Leonard Allen Rodgers, age 75, of Gordonville, Texas passed away on September 29th, 2026. He was born July 16, 1951 in Lubbock Texas to Leonard Ray Rodgers and Ambra Marie Rodgers. Leonard married Lillian Ann Pell on January 17, 1969, together they shared 57 years of marriage and built a life centered around faith, family, and hard work. Together they raised three children: Leonard Jr., Michelle and Jody.
Leonard was known for his hard work, love of family, being a prankster, giving horse bites at any chance he could and cheating at card games! You couldn’t find him without a stash of sweets near him, a can of Big Red or a tall glass of coffee in his hand! He loved to make people laugh but mostly he made people feel loved, seen and appreciated.
He was given many endearing nicknames throughout his life by those who loved him most. For example, Bubba, Pepa, Pokie, Slow Walker, Papa Smurf, Brother-in-Law, and Captain.
His life left a lasting impression on those who knew and loved him, and the lessons and memories he gave his family will continue for generations.
He is survived by his wife Lilian Rodgers, son, Leonard Rodgers Jr., wife Shelley, daughter Michelle Watland, husband Jim and daughter Jody Mele along with his grandchildren, Joseph Grissom and wife Brittney, Kylie Griffith and husband Harrison, Reagan Mele, Kennedy Rodgers, and Caden Mele, great granddaughter, Serena, sister Linda Weatherford, husband Gary, brother Alvin Ray Rodgers, wife Thresia, brother, Calvin Joe Rodgers along with many nieces and nephews who he loved dearly.
Leonard is preceded in death by his heavenly family, parents Leonard & Ambra Rodgers, his sister Joyce Jackson, and husband Paul Jackson, nephew Lee Jacks, sister-in-law Kim Rodger, mother-in-law and father-in-law O.V and Rea Kirby, Jack Pell, and sister in laws Virginia Pell, and Denise Kirby.
