Jerry Wayne Love

Jerry Wayne Love was born on October 3, 1947, in Fredrick, Oklahoma. He was raised in and around Tishomingo and Ravia, Oklahoma, and later served in the United States Marine Corps.

After his time in the Marines, Jerry settled in Wichita Falls where he was a draftsman for the city.  Then to Tom Bean, and Denison before eventually settling in Whitesboro, where he had been a resident since 1987.

Daddy Married Sheri Ann Love September 9, 1985.

Some of Jerry’s best friendships were formed while he was renting the old house on Charter Street. In 1995, he purchased the family home on White Street, a place he cherished deeply. He took great pride in his property, especially the St. Augustine grass, which he mowed faithfully. One of Renita’s favorite memories is mowing alongside her dad.

Many people may remember Jerry at EZ Mart between 3:00 and 5:00 in the morning, drinking coffee and visiting with those around him.

Jerry worked hard throughout his life and eventually retired as the Maintenance Manager for Lake Kiowa. He was a protector, a provider, and someone who could always be counted on.

Jerry renewed his faith in Jesus Christ, and that faith became an important part of his life.

He was preceded in death by his father, Alphus Love; his mother, Pearlie Love; his sisters Zelvia Bell Love and Etta Mae Love, his son, Phillip Neal Love; his dear friend Jim Duncan, whom he met during his years on Charter Street; and his cousin and “ride-or-die,” Tony Dewberry.

He is survived by his wife, Sheri Ann Love; his daughters, Amy Love, Zaundria Love, Geneva Love, Amanda Love, Tracey Love, and Renita Love Murphy; his son, Chad Wilson; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and cherished friends.
