Norman Dale Aston, 86, of Whitesboro, Texas, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, August 14, 2026. He was born on July 17, 1940, in Corsicana, Texas, to Charles Gaylord Aston and Faye Rene (Thomas) Aston.
Norman graduated from Ferris High School in 1958. He went on to dedicate 44 years of his life to the United States Postal Service, where he built a long and respected career before retiring as Postmaster of the Farmersville, Texas, Post Office. Norman and Judy were members at Parkside Church in Denison, Texas for many years and he taught Sunday School faithfully while attending First Baptist Church in Lancaster, Texas.
On August 6, 1994, Norman married the love of his life, Judy Ann Russell, in Whitesboro, Texas. Together, they shared many wonderful years filled with family, travel, laughter, and adventure.
Norman had a true appreciation for life and enjoyed many interests. He had a passion for flying and proudly volunteered with the Civil Air Patrol for many years. He enjoyed motorcycles, cars, traveling, and, perhaps most of all, discovering and enjoying good food. His curiosity, creativity, and zest for life brought joy to those around him, and he created many lasting memories with his family and friends.
Norman will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Judy Aston of Whitesboro; daughters, Cindy Aston Aguilar and husband, Jorge, of Grapevine, Norma Aston Mitchell and husband, Steve, of Wylie, and Stefanie Aston Jardine and husband, Chris, of Keller; grandchildren, Dylan Harwart, Kade Harwart, Aubrey Jardine, CJ Jardine, Jenny Alonzo, Megan Liebel, Peyton Reed, and Preston Reed; great-grandchildren, Olivia Boeker and Arya Harwart; stepsons, David Reed and wife,
Jennifer, and James Reed; sister and brother-in-law, Jane and Brian Parish; and nephews, Matthew Parish and wife, Megan, Michael Parish and wife, Amber, and Mitchel Parish and wife, Kara.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Charles Melvin Aston.
Pallbearers will be Dylan Harwart, Kade Harwart, CJ Jardine, Peyton Reed, Preston Reed, and Brian Parish.
Graveside services honoring Norman will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, August 20, 2026 at Oakwood Cemetery in Whitesboro, officiated by Rev. Mike Flanagan. No formal visitation is scheduled at this time.
Norman leaves behind a lifetime of memories and the love of a family who will forever cherish the time they shared with him. His kindness, adventurous spirit, creativity, and love of life will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
