Jody Shane Meador
Jody Shane Meador, 54, of Whitesboro, Texas, passed away on May 15, 2026, at Texoma Medical Center. Born on July 8, 1971, in Gainesville, Texas, to Joey Meador and Louise Hair Meador, Jody lived a life defined by fierce loyalty, laughter, and a heart bigger than life itself.
Jody was the kind of friend everyone hoped to have by their side when life became difficult. He was unwavering in his loyalty—always ready to stand beside those he cared about, through good times and bad, even when the odds were stacked against them. If you were fortunate enough to call Jody a friend, you knew you had someone who would always have your back, no matter what.
Known for his sharp wit, unforgettable sense of humor, and fearless spirit, Jody could light up any room with laughter. He was never one to back down, standing tall and strong for what he believed in, regardless of who stood before him. His courage, humor, and larger-than-life personality left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
Jody attended Whitesboro High School and spent much of his life working as a farrier, a profession that perfectly reflected his deep love for animals. His passion for his work, his devotion to his family, and his genuine care for others were at the center of who he was. His love for animals and family was only surpassed by the joy and laughter he brought to so many lives.
He is survived by his loving mother, Louise Hair of Whitesboro, Texas; brothers, Mack Meador and wife, Tracy of Gainesville, Texas, and Larry Meador and wife, Leslie of Longwood, Florida; nephew, Ryder Meador of Sadler, Texas; and nieces, Crislyn Holman of Norman, Oklahoma, Trinity Holman of Gainesville, Texas, Sydney and Hannah Meador of Longwood, Florida and great-niece Paislee Meador.
Jody was preceded in death by his father, Joey Meador, and sisters, Kimberly Ann Meador and Toni La Nette Matthews.
Though his passing leaves an immeasurable void, Jody’s humor, strength, loyalty, and love will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
A Celebration of Life Visitation was be held Thursday, May 21 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Whitesboro.
Jody will be deeply missed, fondly remembered, and forever cherished as a true friend, devoted family man, and unforgettable soul.
