Larry McCorkle

Larry McCorkle, a man of profound integrity, professional excellence, and unwavering devotion to his family, passed away on March 11, 2026.

Born on May 7, 1948 in Gainesville Texas, Larry grew up in Whitesboro, Texas, where he established the roots of his strong work ethic. A proud 1966 graduate of Whitesboro High School, Larry was a standout football player and member of the FFA where alongside his brother Gary, spent his youth raising show steers and winning many awards and distinctions along the way. He went on to earn his undergraduate degree from East Texas State University, laying the foundation for a storied career.

Larry’s professional journey began at Texas Instruments before taking him to Fort Wayne, Indiana, with Aetna Insurance. However, the pull of Texas was strong, and he eventually returned to Dallas to enter the world of commercial real estate.
Larry became a titan in the industry. After years of sales at Coldwell Banker, he concluded his career as Executive Vice President at Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL). While his colleagues respected him for his business acumen, Larry remained grounded, never letting his professional titles define him.

Despite his immense corporate success, Larry was clear about his greatest achievement: his marriage to his wife, Karen. His love and devotion to her were unparalleled. Larry didn’t just join Karen’s life; he embraced her children and grandchildren, finding his deepest joy in family life.

An avid sports fan, Larry spent many Saturdays and Sundays cheering for the Texas Longhorns and the Dallas Cowboys.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, George and Leona McCorkle; his brothers, George and Gary McCorkle; his half-brother, Kenneth Poyner; and his beloved wife, Karen.

His memory will be carried on by the large and loving family he leaves behind, his Nephews: Andrew and wife Amanda McCorkle of Houston, George and wife Brianne McCorkle of McAllen, Roman and wife Cindy McCorkle of Laredo, and John McCorkle of Dallas; his Great-Nephews & Nieces: Courtney, Logan, Abigail, Roman Garrison, and Chloe, as well as Karen’s Children; Kesh and husband Taylor Curtis of Dallas, their sons Taylor, Jack, Anderson, Beckett, and Blake and wife Ellen of Dallas and with their sons, Cooper, Walker, Sawyer, Cortland, and Bear.

Larry will be missed every day by the McCorkle and Anderson families, and by the countless friends and colleagues who were fortunate enough to know him.

We invite you to join us in a celebration of Larry’s life on Friday, March 20 from 1- 3 p.m. followed by a gravesite memorial service from 3-4 p.m. at Restland Funeral Home and Cemetery. 13005 Greenville Ave, Dallas, Texas 75243
