Brenda Jean Curry Voiles
Brenda Jean Curry Voiles
Brenda Jean Curry Voiles had her faith become sight on Monday, February 16, 2026 after a long, hard-fought battle with cancer.
A Celebration of Life was held on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at First Celina (841 N Preston Rd, Celina, TX 75009). Guests were invited to join the family for visitation at 10:00am and the service followed at 11:00am.
Brenda was born in Waco, Texas on January 31, 1961 to RL and Ann (French) Curry. She graduated from Midway High School in 1979 where she had been Drum Major and played clarinet, bass clarinet and contrabass clarinet. She would go on to serve in the workforce in many different administrative capacities – Central Freight Lines, Frisco ISD, Lonestar Transportation, Texas Back Institute. Above all, her greatest and most favorite job was raising her daughters and grandchildren.
She married her best friend and love of her life, Kenny Voiles, on June 6, 1981. During their nearly 45 years of marriage, they enjoyed spending time together—whether golfing, driving in the convertible Mustang, serving together at church or with the girls’ activities, or spoiling their four precious grandchildren. She was intentional with making memories with them: swimming, slumber parties, reading books, teaching them to love George Strait from an early age, baking treats and cooking their favorite meals, and playing card games. They always knew they could count on their Lolli.
Brenda set an example of what it looks like to have a firm foundation of faith for her friends and family, one we are honored to carry forward. While we miss her dearly, we are grateful to know she is in the presence of Jesus where we look forward to seeing her again.
She is survived by her husband, Ken; daughters Tara O’Shields (husband Ryan), and Melanie Lombardo (husband Matt); grandchildren: Brodie and Reagan O’Shields, and Levi and Aubrey Lombardo; mother, Ann Curry; sister, Bridget O’Connor (husband Tom); brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Steve and Debbie Voiles; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Cliff and Vickie Kroll; nieces and nephews, Drew Lewis, Josh Voiles, Megan Mobley, Aimee Y’Barbo, Dan O’Connor, Scott O’Connor, and Katey O’Connor.
She is preceded in death by her father, RL Curry.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Brenda’s memory to First Celina’s building campaign so they may continue to help others build a foundation of faith in the Lord for generations to come. Please visit www.firstcelina.org/give and choose “Discipleship & Parking Reno” Fund.
