Mary Sue Jarvis, 84, of Gordonville, Texas was called to her eternal home on Tuesday, February 3. 2026.

Mary was born on January 7, 1942, in Antlers, Oklahoma, to Oscar Vondo Gideon and Etta Mae Borden Gideon. She spent her early years in Oklahoma before building a life rooted in family, hard work, and deep personal connections.

On November 18, 1961, Mary Sue married John William Jarvis in Arlington, Texas. Together, they shared over 56 years of marriage and family life.

Mary Sue graduated from Grand Prairie High School and was employed by General Motors, where she dedicated many years of service. Outside of her career, she found her greatest joy at home—loving her family, hosting family gatherings, and cooking for those she loved. Her kitchen and her table were places of comfort, laughter, and togetherness.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Etta Mae Gideon, her husband, John Jarvis, son, Darrell Scott Jarvis, and granddaughter, Michelle Jarvis.

She is survived by her sons, Jeff Jarvis and his wife, Laurie of Sherman, and Steven Jarvis SFC Ret. and his wife, Christine of Schertz, Texas; grandchildren, Dr. Tatjana Jarvis, Steven Bernhard Jarvis, Madison Jarvis, and Benjamin Jarvis. She will be remembered fondly for her devotion to her family and the love she brought into their lives.

A memorial service honoring Mary will be held at 12:00 PM on February 14, 2026 at First Baptist Church in Sherwood Shores, officiated by Bro. Robert Dennis.  Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home of Whitesboro.
