John Jeffrey ‘Jeff’ Paty

Jeff Paty was born on July 17, 1975, in Dallas, Texas, and passed away on January 28, 2026, in Lewisville, Texas, at the age of 50. Jeff lived most of his life in Texas, though he spent several formative years in Tucson, Arizona, with his mother during adolescence.

Jeff was strong in his Christian faith and attended Valley Creek Church. For the past 20 years, he worked alongside his father at Paty Meat Company as the Maintenance and Safety Manager—often referring to himself as the company’s “save-the-day guru.” In his spare time, Jeff put his remarkable skills to use through handyman and construction work under J&L Construction. There was truly nothing Jeff couldn’t build or fix.

On October 9, 2004, Jeff married the love of his life, Leah Janeway, in Cross Roads, Texas. Together they welcomed their beautiful daughter, Kennedi Grace Paty, in August 2005. Caring for his girls was Jeff’s greatest joy and purpose.
Jeff loved date nights with Leah listening to Texas country music and local bands, hiking and snow skiing in Colorado with Kennedi, hunting throughout his life, and spending time with family and friends. He was famous for entertaining the entire family during holidays—especially with his enthusiastic pyrotechnics, always seeing how big of a crater he could make or whether he could shake the windows of the house. Jeff was a devoted animal lover and dedicated rescuer of all animals.

To know Jeff was to love him. He lived life big, and he lived it loud. Jeff never met a stranger. He loved staying active, working with his hands, and embracing life fully. He was deeply loved and will be remembered for his larger-than-life personality, his generosity, and his great big heart. His absence leaves an immeasurable hole in the lives of those who loved him.

Survived by wife, Leah Paty; daughter, Kennedi Paty; father, John (Ann) Paty; mother, Paula Badura; mother-in-law, Debbie Lorenz; father-in-law, Keith (Melinda) Janeway; brother, Justin (Sarah) Paty; sister, Alicia (Greg) Parker; sisters-in-law, Lori (Trey) Bourland and Lana (Brandon) Colvin; brothers-in-law, Chris (Mary) Watson and Tyler (Jenny) Watson; 15 beloved nieces and nephews and 2 great-nieces.
