Frankie Lee “Teed” Denton

Frankie Lee “Teed” Denton, 87, of Whitesboro, Texas was called to his eternal home on Thursday, January 22, 2026.

Frankie was born on June 13, 1938 in Gordonville, Texas to Frank and Lena (McConnell) Denton.  He was a graduate of S&S Consolidated and served proudly in the United States Army after graduation.  On July 18, 1970 he married Shari Pybas in Madill, Oklahoma.  Frankie worked as a truck driver and for Pillsbury for 25 years along with caring for his farm in Whitesboro.  He enjoyed playing dominos, talking with his friends, mowing and tending to his property, and caring for their horses.  He was a kind and loving husband, father, and Papa to his family.

He is survived by his wife, Shari Denton of Whitesboro; daughter DeLyndia Vaughn and husband, Kelly of Whitesboro; son, Ron Sloan of Durant; daughter, Rhonda Kay Saar and husband, Steven of Ft. Myers, FL; son, Chris Nelson of Denison; grandchildren, Leah Robinson and husband, Ian, Lyndsey Waldrop and husband, David, Layne Vaughn, Andrew Sloan and wife, Melissa, Erica Sloan and husband Ben, Amy Ofori-Atta and husband, Kobe, Lisa Burns and husband, Cody, Ryan Nelson, and Garrett Williams; sister-in-law, Esta Denton, niece, Jana Matthews and husband, Adam, nephew, Chesley Denton, great-grandchildren, Madelyn Green, Everly Waldrop, Noah Waldrop, Harrison Waldrop, Avery Robinson, Lillian Robinson, Hayden Newkirk, Kayden Newkirk, Boston Burns, Channing Burns, Charlee Burns, Zachary Lopez, Zoey Wynn, and Zarianna Wynn. 

Frankie was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Lena Denton, and brother, James “Jim” Denton.

A Remembrance Gathering will be held for family and friends on Thursday, January 29, 2026 at Meador Funeral Home of Whitesboro from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
