Ardith Ann May

Ardith Ann May
Ardith Ann May, 84, of Whitesboro, Texas passed away into the arms of Jesus on Sunday, January 4, 2026.
Ardie was born on June 6, 1941 in Paterson, New Jersey, to Gilbert and Mary Violet (Whritenour) West. She graduated high school from Mary Help of Christians Academy in New Jersey. She married Walter May on October 11, 1975 in Grand Prairie, Texas and they were married until his passing in 1999. She was a long-time member of Legacy Pointe Central Baptist Church of Whitesboro. Ardie was a buyer for years for the Arlington Military Base Commissary and transitioned into the banking business, working as a teller for Chase Bank in Sherman. She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority (Xi Theta Delta Chapter) for fifty years. She volunteered with TCOG (Texoma Council of Governments) and TAHV (Texas Association of Healthcare Volunteers) through WNJ/SMC Volunteer Program. She had a big heart and a passion for helping others. Ardie had the soul of a gypsy; she lived by her terms and did what she wanted and traveled where she wanted to go. She was a social butterfly who enjoyed weekends, but her highlight was her “Sunday Funday” which consisted of church and the casino. She loved her family up North, her church family, and had many friends, but she truly lived for her fur babies. Her big heart will be missed by the many who adored her.
She is survived by her sister, Jacqueline Robataille and husband, Wally of Upstate New York; niece, Lisa Pasquariello and husband, Don; niece, Dawn Feorenzo and husband, Tony; great nieces and nephews, Tori, Lauren & Richard, and Anthony & Dara and her great-great nieces and nephew, Avery, Aubry, and Richard.
Ardie was preceded in death by her husband, Walter May and parents, Gilbert and Mary West.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her honor may be made to ARF House 3377 Spalding Rd. Sherman, Texas 75092 or the Grayson County Humane Society/SPCA 3110 N Calais St. Sherman, TX.
