Judy Wadene Chisum, 76, of Whitesboro, Texas, was called to her eternal home on Friday, Dec. 12, 2025. She passed away at home after a brief illness. 

Judy was born on June 18, 1949 in Bakersfield, California, to Wade and Sue (Shacklett) McMillin.  

She graduated from Denison High School and attended Cosmetology School.

Judy worked for Texas Instruments for over 30 years. 

She married Bill Chisum on Jan. 28, 1972, 

Bill and Judy built a home on the family farm north of Whitesboro where they raised two daughters and son.

Judy enjoyed fishing, dogs, working on puzzles, sports and casinos.  

She was most happy while spending time with family— especially her grandchildren whom she adored. She was regular at their sporting events and their biggest champion. 

Judy is survived by her husband of 53 years, Bill Chisum; daughter Stacy Chisum; daughter Kristie Dickson, and husband Jeff; and son Matt Chisum— all of Whitesboro. 

She is also survived by grandchildren Haleigh, Riley, and Jamie; great-grandchildren, Landrie, Kyson, Corey, and Camryn; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Wade and Sue McMillin; sister Joann Weaver; and brothers Sammy McMillin, Larry McMillin and Dale McMillin.

A memorial gathering in her honor was held on Sunday, Dec. 14, 2025, at Meador Funeral Home in Whitesboro.
