Zona Harmon
Zona Harmon, 78, of Collinsville, Texas, passed away on October 24, 2025.
Born on November 8, 1946, in McAlester, Oklahoma, Zona was the daughter of L.T. and Mabel Patton. Zona graduated from Savanna High School and later built a fulfilling career in education, retiring from Anna High School. Her dedication to her work and the lives she touched through it left a lasting impression on those around her. A devoted member of the First Baptist Church of Collinsville, Zona found strength and community in her faith. She was known for her unwavering generosity – always ready to lend a hand to anyone in need – and for the deep love she held for her family and friends.
Zona’s life was centered around those she loved most. She was a proud mother to Joe Harmon and Pamela Ressmann and her husband, Kirk; a cherished grandmother to Janice Brinlee and her husband, Chris, Jessica Howard and her husband, Ross, Jon Howard and his wife, Emily; and a beloved great-grandmother to Adalynn, Brooklynn, and Ada. Her home was often filled with laughter during card games or board games played with family – a tradition she treasured deeply. She also found joy in cheering on her favorite teams – the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Rangers – although she never missed an opportunity to root for any sports game with enthusiasm.
Zona was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Harmon, her brother, Jan Patton, sister, Wanda Shiew; and her parents L.T. and Mabel Patton.
Her warmth, kindness, and spirited presence will be missed by all how knew her. May her memory bring comfort to those who loved her.
