Thomas Weldon ‘Trey’ Byrom, III
Thomas Weldon “Trey” Byrom, III was born on Aug. 1, 1974 in Goldsboro, North Carolina at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base to Mary Kelly Byrom and Thomas Weldon Byrom, Jr.
He passed away in Chicago, Illinois on Sept. 21, 2025.
Trey was raised in Collinsville.
He graduated from the Illinois Institute of Art with a degree in Interior Architecture and Design. He was employed by Earles Architects and Associates in Chicago, Illinois.
Trey loved traveling, exploring nature, admiring historic buildings, gardening and decorating.
He loved all holidays. He loved his family and truly enjoyed watching his niece and nephew grow up.
Trey will be remembered for the love and kindness he shared for all, as well as his infectious laugh, genuine smile and sweet soul.
He touched so many lives and was so loved.
In addition to his parents, Trey is survived by his siblings, Jennifer Husbands, brother-in-law Chad Husbands and Amy Byrom; niece Sophia Husbands and nephew Logan Husbands; step-mom Rita Byrom; and his partner, Drew Creger; as well as special family members Cecilia Creger; Matthew Singer and wife, Jacqueline Singer; Connor Singer and Katherine Singer.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Thomas Weldon Byrom, Sr.; Betty Rose Byrom; George W. Kelly; Judy Kelly; and Bruce Creger.
Trey will be cremated and his service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, 2025 at the Church of the Holy Comforter in Kenilworth, Illinois.
