Amy Kathleen Maxey, 49, of Whitesboro Texas, died in Denison, Texas on July 15th, 2025
She was born in Arlington in 1975 to Sally and Frank Ellis. Amy grew up in Grand Prairie, Texas but moved all over the country during her father’s Navy career.
Amy graduated from South Grand Prairie High School in 1993 where she met her future husband Tracy Maxey.
Amy’s life was full of joy and laughter. She loved to spend her time with her family, especially her grandchildren Timberly and Parker.
Amy was involved with many organizations and had many hobbies. One of her favorites was participating in various community theatre performances at Butterfield Stage. Amy’s favorite organization she was a part of was the “Free Mom Hugs of Grayson County”.
Amy’s big heart wasn’t just for her family. The last two years of Amy’s life she worked for Whitesboro ISD as an inclusion aid. Amy loved working with students and making a difference in their lives, and hoped to make a larger impact by incorporating one of her favorite hobbies with what she was called to do. Amy was studying at Grand Canyon University to become a theatre teacher.
Amy was preceded in death by her mother Sally Ellis and father Frank Ellis. Amy is survived by her husband Tracy Maxey, her sons Ian Ellis, Joey Fanelli and his wife Anna, Lane Maxey and his wife Whitney; her grandchildren Timberly and Parker Ellis; her sisters Monika Harris and her husband Jay, her sister Donna Morrell and her husband Robert, their children Bobby and Renee Lundberg, her daughter Jayna, Maddy and Tony Morrell; her brother Frank Ellis II and his wife Tish and daughter Savannah Ellis and son; as well as many other family members.
Amy’s Celebration of Life will be held August 16th at Leap of Faith Church in Sherman, Texas. Visitation will be from 10 AM - 12 PM. There will be a private reception from 12 PM - 2 PM. The service will be from 2 PM - 4 PM.
