James Dolezalek
James Dolezalek, a proud veteran of the Vietnam War and beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on May 25, 2025, at the age of 77.
Born on October 17, 1947, James lived a life defined by service, joy, and unwavering love for his family. He served his country honorably in Vietnam, and the same strength and loyalty he showed in uniform remained constant throughout his life.
James is survived by his loving wife, Heidrun, and her four children. He was the proud father of four children: Jamie, James Jr., Jennifer, and Jeremy. He is also survived by his three siblings—Kenneth, Sammy, and Darlene—along with 14 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Bessie Dolezalek.
James was known as the life of the party—his laughter was infectious, his stories unforgettable. He had a deep love for Mopars and a lifelong passion for dirt track racing and drag racing. Whether cheering from the stands, behind the wheel, or swapping tales in the garage, James always brought energy, humor, and excitement to every moment.
His legacy of love, laughter, and loyalty lives on in the hearts of his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family, and the many friends who knew and loved him.
A Rosary was held on Thursday at 6:00 p.m. at Waldo Funeral Home, with military honors immediately following and visitation continuing until 7:00 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial took place on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, followed by a time of fellowship and remembrance at Dorchester Baptist Church.
