Linda Oglesby McMillan

Linda Oglesby McMillan went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 17, 2025. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 6th, at First Baptist Church in Whitesboro. The service will be officiated by Jackie Mitchell, a longtime family friend and Minister of Music and Senior Adults. Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation in the “Commons” area following the service.

Linda was born on December 29, 1938, in Mount Vernon, Texas, to Paul and Virginia Oglesby. She attended the University of North Texas where she met Ron McMillan, and they married on September 19, 1959, in Gainesville, Texas. Together, they owned and operated McMillan Auto Parts for over 30 years.

A member of First Baptist Church, Linda shared her musical gifts through playing the church organ and singing in the choir. She was also the first secretary at Whitesboro High School, where she impacted so many lives. After 15 years, she retired to embrace her favorite role: full-time Grandma.

Linda’s greatest joy was her family. She was a true care-giver, whether it was helping with homework, playing chauffeur, cheering from the bleachers at a grandchild’s ballgame, or simply being there with a warm smile and a snack. Her friendships were also dear to her heart—especially the cherished time spent playing Bridge with “the girls.”

Later in life, Linda discovered a love for travel and eagerly anticipated every adventure, planning her outfits weeks in advance. When asked about her life, she would always say, “My family and friends are my life.”

She is survived by her daughters, Sharla Darter of Cedar Park, TX, and Andra Schuessler and husband Jim of Whitesboro; six beloved grandchildren: Shauna Klaus and husband Randall, Shanon Janczak, Hannah Serwatka and husband Kevin, Jill Gribble and husband Cody, Ryan Schuessler, and Karlee Schuessler; great-grandchildren: Avery, Kayleigh, and Barrett Klaus, Mack and Ava Serwatka; and many dear friends who will miss her greatly.
