Helen Lois Taylor
1931 - 2025

Helen Lois Taylor

Helen Lois Taylor, 94 of Collinsville, went to her heavenly home on May 3, 2025.

Helen, also known as G.G. for Great Grandma, was born to Orbie (O.C.) and Velma Ingram on March 17, 1931. She always loved to celebrate her birthday with everyone wearing green.

After graduating from Collinsville High School, she married the love of her life, Clyde Branch. She was the mother of four who kept her busy.

After the death of Clyde in 1966, Helen decided to go back to school at the University of North Texas where she would graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in elementary education. She taught at both Iowa Park & Callisburg schools.

Helen enjoyed dominoes and according to her she always won. She rarely passed up a trip to Braums or Crumbl Cookies and always enjoyed a glass of Dr Pepper. She enjoyed doing cross word puzzles and reading. She especially enjoyed reading her Bible.

Most importantly was Helen’s love for the Lord. Up until the last few months when her health began to decline, she rarely missed a day of church. Nothing made her happier than for one of her grandkids to join her on Sunday morning. She was a faithful Sunday school teacher at First Baptist Church in Collinsville for over 20 years.

Helen is survived by her son, Michael Branch and wife, Brenda of Florida; grandchildren Emily Cannon and husband Sean, Amber Heilman, Andrea Branch-Bauer, Greg Branch, Chris Branch and wife Kristi, Tim Branch and wife Nicole, Chelsey Benoy and husband Dillon, Elena Ruiz, Diana Branch, and Amanda Gonzales, twenty-three great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren and one on the way, numerous nieces and nephews, and her very special friend Milburn Cravens.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, O.C. and Velma Ingram, her first husband Clyde Branch, her second husband, Dub Taylor, her daughter, Vella Heilman and her husband, Kenneth, daughter, Rhonda Gonzales, and son, Kenny Branch, sisters, Mildred Landers and her husband Clay, Mary Jean (Peppy) and her husband Grady, her great grandson, Charlie Bauer, and her great granddaughter, Rachel Traffanstedt.

Funeral Services honoring Helen will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at First Baptist Church of Collinsville, officiated by Reverend Tar Henderson, and Reverend Michael Branch. Interment will follow at Collinsville Cemetery. A time of visitation for friends and family will be held one hour prior to the services at the church.
