Pirates still rolling, Jenkins hits milestone 
The Collinsville Pirate baseball team swept Wolfe City in the opening round of the playoff in shutout fashion. 
Senior pitcher Logan Jenkins threw a three-hitter with 11 strikeouts and a walk.
He set the Texas High School record for consecutive scoreless innings at 63.
He also went 2-for-2 with a double, home run, three RBIs and scored three runs when the Pirates topped the Wolfes 10-0 in five innings in game two.
Reed Patterson went 2-for-2, walked, drove in a run and scored twice.
Garrett Trevino was 2-for-3 with a double and scored once. 
Rylan Newman singled, walked twice, drove in a run and scored.
Colin Barnes doubled, walked and scored once. 
Cash Morgan walked, drove in a run and scored once.
The Pirates opened the series with a 16-2 win in five innings in Game One.
Trevino went 2-for-2, walked, drove in three and scored three runs.
Morgan went 3-for-4, drove in a run and scored once. 
Barnes went 2-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and scored three times.
Newman and Jaxon Jenkins combined on a one-hitter with 10 strikeouts and two walks.
Logan Jenkins tripled, walked, drove in a run and scored three times.
Peyton Davidson singled, walked, drove in a run and scored and Patterson walked twice and scored three runs.
The wins took Collinsville to 31-2 on the year.
The Pirates opened the area round against Muenster Thursday at Cotton Nix Field in Denton. Results were not available as of press time.
Game two and three (if needed) commence tonight at 5 p.m.

Lady Rams on to Round 3
The S&S Lady Ram softball team swept Edgewood at Commerce last week to march on from the Area round of post season play. 
They kicked off the affair with a 12-0 shutout in game one.
Hayden Mowrey went 3-for-4, walked, drove in three and scored twice.
She also threw a two-hitter with 14 strikeouts and a walk.
Lana Walters went 3-for-4 with a double, walked, drove in a run and scored three runs.
Hannah Foster went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and scored three times.
Makayla Adams tripled, walked, drove in two and scored once.
Denley Blankenship went 2-for-4 and scored once. 
Hayden Kight singled, walked and drove in a run.
Tynslie Adcock singled and scored for S&S.
The stakes were somewhat different in Game Two but Rams etched out a 2-1 win and prevented a game three. 
The win took S&S  to 27-7 on the year.  
They will face Emory Rains in a region quarterfinal series at Princeton. 
Game One was at 6 p.m. Wednesday. Results were not available as of press time. 
Game Two and Three were set for 6 p.m. Thursday. Results were not available as of press time. 
The Lady Rams are in the third round for the first time since 2009.

Lady Cats top Grand Saline
It was touch and go, but the Whitesboro Lady Cat softball team came away from their Game One bout with Grand Saline with a 2-1 win. 
They took control of the series in Game Two and are on the third round of post season play. 
In Game One, Avery Howerton threw a one-hitter, allowed an unearned run and struck out 16 without a walk.
She also went 2-for-3 with a double, drove in a run.
Reagan Downs singled and scored once.
Melanie Baldwin drove in a run.
Maci Graves, Tylar Olsen and Bradi Gallaway singled.
They opened Round Three with a single game series at home against Gunter on Wedensday night.

Lady Bulldogs end run
Despite an 8-5 win over Hico at Springtown last week in Game One, the Tioga Lady Bulldog softball team failed to maintain in Games Two and Three.
They ended the 2024 season as bi-district champs— a first in school history. 
In Game One, Taffi Adams went 4-for-4, drove in a run and scored twice.
Ainsley Denham went 2-for-3 and drove in a run.
Channing Hurst went 2-for-4 and scored twice.
Kyndall Whitley went 2-for-4 and scored once.
Kaylee Evans doubled and scored once. 
Bella Dennis and Lauren Sheppard each singled and scored once.
Kenzie Powers singled and drove in a run.

Bulldogs exit Round One
It took three games, but the Sam Rayburn Rebels ended the Tioga post season baseball run last week before it got started. 
Tioga lost Game One 10-0, bounced in Game Two with a 9-2 win but came up four runs short in Game Three after a 6-2 final.
