3 of 4 challengers win Whitesboro City Council race, WISD passes both bonds

Whitesboro voters opted for change Saturday. Three city council incumbents will be ousted once unofficial results are canvassed. Whitesboro ISD voters also approved a total of $118 million in school bonds. Unofficial results from Saturday’s local election across the area are as follows:

WHITESBORO CITY COUNCIL 
Challengers Mike Pack and Ronnie Fielder were among the top three vote-getters in the at large election along with incumbent Stacey Miles. Vote totals are:
Mike Pack- 282
Stacey Miles- 271
Ronnie Fielder- 264
John Moore – 261
Ben Edwards- 258
Johnny Carnes- 131

Challenger Su Welch also won in a head-to-head contest against incumbent Colby Meals. Vote totals are:
Su Welch- 303
Colby Meals- 285

WHITESBORO ISD BOARD OF TRUSTEES
Incumbents Jeff Patterson and Kevin Hartless both kept their seats by resounding margins. Vote totals are:
Jeff Patterson- 722
Kevin Hartless- 566
Whitney Walsh-Seitz- 439
Nicole Hawkins- 194
Caleigh Latta- 77

WHITESBORO ISD BOND
Both Whitesboro ISD Bond propositions got the approval of voters. Proposition A is a $100 million bond that will provide money for buses and facilities. Vote totals are:
For- 767
Against- 524

Proposition B allocates $18 million for the construction of a multi-purpose activity and performance building. It passed by a much slimmer margin than Proposition B. Vote totals are:
For- 652
Against- 635

COLLINSVILLE CITY COUNCIL
The Collinsville City Council will welcome two new faces this term as newcomer Jessica Orsburn and former Mayor Brandon White won the right to sit on the council. White has not been on council in recent years. They were joined by incumbent Chase Guidera as the top three vote-getters. Incumbent Tom Worsham lost his bid for re-election. Vote totals are:
Jessica Orsburn- 105
Chase Guidera- 94
Brandon White- 83
Thomas Worsham, Jr.- 62

S&S CISD BOARD OF TRUSTEES
The S&S school board will get two new members in the wake of Saturday’s vote. Incumbent Chris Lopez was ousted in a four-way, at-large race for Place 6. Challenger Andrew Reeves won that race. Vote totals are:
Andrew Reeves- 130
Jeffrey McSpedden- 87
Chris Lopez- 53
Randall Leach- 44

Brian Clark beat Tommy Carney for Place 5 which was previously held by Sean Turner. Vote totals are:
Brian Clark- 189
Tommy Carney- 128

TIOGA CITY COUNCIL
Incumbent Heather Nesmith held on to her seat on the Tioga City Council. Place 5 was the seat up for grabs on the Tioga city ballot. Vote totals are: 
Heather Nesmith- 118 
Logan Peterson- 110

TIOGA ISD BOARD OF TRUSTEES
Voters in Tioga ISD gave a resounding vote of confidence to incumbent Dallas Slay who beat challenger Patty Wheeler in a landslide. Vote totals are:
Dallas Slay- 210 
Patty Wheeler- 119

TIOGA ISD BOND
Tioga ISD voters also approved a $26 million bond that will be used exclusively to restructure existing school debt. Vote totals are:
For- 182
Against- 155

All the above results are according to the Grayson County Election Administration. All results are preliminary pending official canvassing by the perspective boards.
