Lady Cats roll in bi-district, on to area
The Whitesboro Lady Cat softball team made short work of Duncanville Village Tech Thursday night with a 16-0 final in the bi-district round of the state playoffs. 
Maci Graves and Avery Howerton teamed up for a perfect game. 
They struck out all nine batters they faced. 
Graves also tripled and scored twice.
Howerton singled, walked, drove in two and scored twice. 
Melanie Baldwin went 2-for-3 with a triple, drove in a run and scored twice.
Addison McBride went 2-for-2 with two RBIs and scored twice.
Tylar Olsen doubled, drove in two and scored twice. 
Bradi Gallaway doubled, drove in one run and scored twice.
Keely Hartless singled, walked, drove in a run and scored twice.
Olivia Hildebrand singled, walked and scored once. 
The win took Whitesboro to 25-7 on the year.
They will face Grand Saline in the area round at 6 p.m. tonight at Community High School. 
Game two will be 5 p.m. Saturday at Community followed by game three, if needed.

S&S marches on to Area, will face Edgewood
The S&S Lady Ram Softball team opened the playoffs with a 15-0 run-rule win over Dallas Oak Cliff last week in Denton.  
Hayden Kight threw a no-hitter with four strikeouts and a walk.
Hayden Mowrey went 3-for-3 with a double, four RBIs and scored three runs.
Hannah Foster tripled, walked, drove in a run and scored twice.
Lana Walters singled, walked twice, drove in a run and scored three times.
Mikayla Adams singled, walked, drove in a run and scored twice.
Bri Fowler walked twice and scored twice.
The win took S&S to 25-7 on the year.
They opened the Area Thursday at Commerce High School against Edgewood. 
Game two is set for 7:30 p.m. tonight. If needed, game three will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday.

Lady Pirates sail into Area
The Collinsville Lady Pirate Softball team picked up a sweep that ended a resounding 18-0 over Windthorst in the bi-district round of the playoffs last week. 
Devyn Elvington went 3-for-4 with six RBIs and scored three runs in game two.
Shelby Derzapf and Reece Elvington teamed up for a one-hitter with three strikeouts and four walks.
Derzapf also tripled and drove in two.
Jaydee Matlock went 3-for-4 and scored twice.
Audrey Miller went 2-for-2, walked twice, drove in two and scored once.
Tessa Vannoy had a homerun, drove in three and scored twice.
Ashleigh Ortowski singled, walked and scored twice.
The win took Collinsville to 22-9 on the year.
The Lady Pirates won the first game 9-2.
Derzapf had six-hitter with seven strikeouts and four walks.
She also singled and drove in two. 
Matlock went 3-for-4, drove in a run and scored twice.
Miller went 2-for-5 with two RBIs and scored once. 
Ortowski went 2-for-4 and scored twice.
Haidyn Bryson tripled, drove in a run and scored once. 
Addisyn McDonnell singled, walked and scored twice. 
Vannoy singled, walked and scored.
Collinsville will open the Area round tonight at 7 p.m. against Tolar at Argyle High School. 
Game two will be at noon Saturday, with game three immediately thereafter— if need be.

Tioga outlasts Petrolia
It took three games, but the Tioga Lady Bulldog softball team prevailed in the bi-district round against Petrolia and punched their ticket to Area. 
They came up short in game one with a 15-13 final. 
Kennedy Slay went 3-for-4 with a triple, drove in two and scored twice.
Taffi Adams went 4-for-5 and scored twice.
Kyndall Whitley went 2-for-4 with a double, walked, drove in two and scored twice.
Kenzie Powers went 2-for-4 with two doubles, walked, drove in two and scored twice.
Kaylee Evans homered and drove in two.
Channing Hurst tripled, drove in a run and scored once.
Lauren Sheppard singled, walked, drove in a run and scored once.
Tioga extended the series with an 11-3 victory in Game 2. 
They came away with the 13-11 win in Game 3.
Ainsley Denham went 3-for-4 in that affair with a double, walked, drove in three and scored once. 
Whitley went 3-for-5 with a double, three RBIs and scored once. 
Hurst went 2-for-4, walked, drove in three and scored twice.
Adams went 2-for-3, walked twice and scored twice.
Evans went 2-for-5 with a triple, drove in a run and scored once. 
Bella Dennis doubled, walked twice and scored twice.
Sheppard tripled, walked, drove in a run and scored twice.
Slay singled, drove in a run and scored twice for Tioga.
The win took Tioga to 20-8 on the year. 
They will face Hico in an Area round series that starts tonight in Springtown. 
Game 1 is 6 p.m. 
Games 2 and 3 will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday.

Cats sweep Rams
The Whitesboro Bearcat Baseball team snapped a four-game losing streak to end district play with a sweep of S&S last week. 
Whitesboro opened the double-header with a 16-3 win in five innings. 
Brayden Bomar went 2-for-2, walked, drove in two and scored three times.
Maxx Parker went 2-for-2 with a double, walked, drove in a run and scored twice.
Dax Martin doubled, drove in four and scored twice.
Max Hinsley singled, walked, drove in two and scored twice.
Brees tripled, walked, drove in a run and scored twice.
Nolan Moore singled, drove in a run and scored.
Landon Newkirk walked twice, drove in a run and scored once.
Game 2 ended in a 18-3 victory in six innings.
Colt Fagan went 3-for-3, hit by a pitch and scored four times.
Camden Stephens went 2-for-3 with a double and scored three runs.
Bomar singled, walked, was hit by a pitch, drove in a run and scored twice.
Hinsley singled, walked twice, drove in two and scored twice.
Parker singled, walked twice, drove in two and scored.
Martin singled and drove in two.
Newkirk  walked, drove in a run and scored two runs.
Paig Morgan went 2-for-2, walked and scored twice for S&S. 
Nik Roseberry went 2-for-3 with a double and drove in a run.
Asher Zuniga singled and scored once.
Brightin McNabb singled and drove in a run.
The Bearcats open the playoffs 6 p.m. tonight at Richardson against Scurry Rosser. 
Game 2 will be at 1 p.m. tomorrow with Game 3 imm
ediately thereafter, if needed.

Pirates land 40th straight district win
The Collisnville Pirate Baseball team picked up their third straight district title and 40th straight district win with a sweep of Trenton late last week.
The Pirates opened Game 1 with a 10-0 win. 
Rylan Newman threw a two-hitter with 12 strikeouts and one walk.
Logan Jenkins went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and scored three runs.
Jaxon Jenkins went 2-for-4, drove in a run and scored once. 
Peyton Davidson went 2-for-4.
Colin Barnes singled, drove in a run and scored twice.
Reed Patterson singled, walked and scored once. 
Cash Morgan singled, walked and drove in a run.
Garrett Trevino walked twice and drove in a run.
They found paydirt in Game 2 as well where 
Logan threw a one-hitter in Game 2 with 11 strikeouts and four walks.
He also went 2-for-3 with a double, walked twice, drove in five runs. 
Morgan went 3-for-3 with two doubles, walked, drove in a run and scored twice.
Davidson went 2-for-3, walked, drove in a run and scored.
Newman went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. 
Patterson singled, walked three times and scored four runs.
Trevino singled, drove in a run and scored once. 
The wins took Collinsville to 28-2 on the year. 
They opened the playoffs last night with a double header against Wolfe City in Melissa. 
Results were not available as of press time. 
If needed, Game 3 will be tonight at 6 p.m. 
The Pirates picked up a late season tune-up game over the weekend against Pottsboro and emerged the 5-2 victor.  
Newman had a home run, walked twice, drove in three and scored twice.
Morgan went 2-for-3 and drove in a run.
Jaxon Jenkins went 2-for-3.
Parker Wells singled, walked and scored once.
Trevino allowed two runs on six hits with six strikeouts and two walks in six innings.
Patterson singled and walked once.
