Bearcats clean-up at district meet
The Whitesboro Lady Cat track team won District 10-3A track meet last week and the Whitesboro boys placed third in team totals. The Lady Cats finished with 122 points. S&S finished eighth as a team.

Olivia Hildebrand won the district champion for Whitesboro’s in the discus with a toss of 145 feet, 5 inches. Siena Bensley was seventh with a throw of 73 feet. Hildebrand also won the district title in the shot put with a heave of 41 feet, 8.5 inches. Bensley was sixth. Barrios Chavez was 10th. Isabel Gabbert won the district title in the triple jump at 33 feet and a half inch.
Aubrey Beam was fifth at 30 feet, 10.5 inches. Madi Brees was eighth. Gabbert also won the district championship in the 300 hurdles with a time of 47.80 seconds. Chavez was sixth in 52.37 seconds. Brylee Weddle won the 400 with a time of 57.84 seconds. Beam was sixth in 1:04.26.

The 400 relay team of La’Ney Powell, Gabbert, Shelby Riddle and Weddle won gold with a time of 51.10 seconds. The 1,600 relay of Riddle, Beam, Gabbert and Weddle also took first with a time of 4:07.99. Gabbert took second in the high jump. Madison Pokluda was fourth. Jenna Cole was third in the pole vault. Beam was fourth in the 800. Powell was fifth in the 100 meter dash. Bensley was seventh. Riddle was sixth in the 200 meter dash. The 800 relay of Powell, Pokluda, Cole and Bensley was sixth in 1:56.95. Chavez placed eighth in the 100 hurdles.
Chavez was also eighth in the long jump. Riddle was ninth. Powell was 10th. S&S Lady Ram Brynn Blevins finished third in the 100 hurdles with a time of 16.71 seconds. Addisin Purdom was eighth in the discus. Brenna Howard placed 10th. Purdom was ninth in the shot put. Howard was 11th. 

On the boys side, Whitesboro totaled 124 points for third, just two points behind runner-up Ponder. The Bearcats were led by Collin Phillips who won the shot put with a throw of 44 feet, 3.25 inches. Micah Velten took fourth with a throw of 40 feet, 3 inches. Colt Fagan placed sixth. Phillips also won district gold in the discus with a throw of 134 feet, 6 inches. Aiden LaSalle was eighth and Velten was ninth. Zander Brannan took first in the pole vault by clearing 12 feet. He also placed sixth in the 800. The 1,600 relay team of Fagan, Max Hinsley, Karter Sluder and Maxx Parker took first in 3:25.25. Gage Brown was second in the high jump by clearing five feet, 10 inches. Aiden Brinley was third.

Sluder took second in the 400 with a time of 51.08 seconds. Reese Huhnke was sixth. Wyatt Winchester was the runner-up in the 300 hurdles with a time of 42.22 seconds. Jack Hinsley was third in 42.48 seconds. Keelan Bates was seventh.

The 400 relay team of Winchester, Sluder, Fagan and Parker took third with a time of 44.60 seconds. The 800 relay team of Winchester, Fagan, Max Hinsley and Brett Donaldson also won third in 1:33.17. Jack Hinsley was third in the 110 hurdles with a time of 16.18 seconds while Bates was eighth in 18.88 seconds. Jack Hinsley was sixth in the triple jump. Brinley was 10th and Winchester was 14th. Jack Hinsley also was seventh in the long jump. Winchester was 18th. Bates was 19th. S&S was led by Jayden Vega’s fifth-place finish in the 100 meter dash in 11.71 seconds. Daniel Hernandez was seventh in the 400.

The 400 relay team of Asher Zuniga, Vega, Joemar Dalayan and Hernandez was seventh in 45.44 seconds. Dalayan placed eighth in the triple jump. Paig Morgan was 12th. Vega was 10th in the long jump and Dalayan was 15th. George Dunn was 15th in the shot put and discus.

Pirates, Bulldogs sweep district track 
Collinsville and Tioga will be well represented at the Area Track meet after strong finishes at district last week. On the girls’ side Collinsville’s Reese Patterson won the 100 hurdles with a time of 17.42 seconds and was fifth in the 300 hurdles in 53.29 seconds. Addisyn McDonnell was third in the discus with 103 feet, 5 inches and fifth in the shot put with a heave of 31 feet, 6 inches. The 800 relay of Alison Harwick, Ashleigh Ortowski, Tessa Vannoy and Jaydee Matlock took fourth in 1:54.50.

The 1,600 relay of Harwick, Patterson, Ortowski and Matlock also took fourth with a time of 4:29.20. The 400 relay of Vannoy, Harwick, Caelyn Scott and Ortowski took fifth in 53.72 seconds. Matlock won fifth in the high jump. Harwick was eighth in the long jump.

The Lady Bulldogs took third place overall with 83 points. Tioga’s Taffi Adams took second place in the 100 meter dash with a time of 12.92 seconds. Justice Babbitt took second in the 300 hurdles with a time of 52.04 seconds. Rebecca Parks was sixth in 54.23 seconds. Lindsay Byler took second in the shot put with a throw of 34 feet, 9.25 inches. She also took fourth in the discus with a throw of 90 feet. Addison Isbell was 13th with a throw of 55 feet, five inches and Katelyn Garrison was 15th with a throw of 46 feet, four inches.

The 800 relay of Sydney Reynolds, Isabella Dennis, Ella Norwood and Kyndall Whitley took the silver medal with a time of 1:50.09. The 1,600 relay of Babbitt, Dennis, Norwood and Whitley also took second with a time of 4:16.99. The 400 relay of Babbitt, Dennis, Norwood and Whitley finished second in 51.95 seconds. Parks won third in the 100 hurdles with a time of 17.89 seconds. Whitley was fourth in the long jump at 14 feet, five inches. Norwood was sixth at 13 feet, 10.25 inches. Bella Stratton was 10th at 12 feet, eight inches. Kendall Kearns took fourth in the high jump. Whitley tied for eighth.

Reynolds was fourth in the 400.  Kearns was fifth. Norwood also took sixth in the triple jump at 30 feet, 5.25 inches. Brinklee Bates was ninth. Dennis was 10th. Faith Tepfer was seventh in the 3,200. Emily Juan was eighth. Tepfer was eighth in the 1,600. Mackenzie Rodriguez was right behind her at ninth. Garrison was 10th in the shot put and Madalynn Gressett was 11th.
Maggie Perry was 11th in the 800. Madeline Billings was ninth. Rodriguez was 13th.

On the boys side, Collinsville’s Russell Carney won the district title in the shot put with a throw of 48 feet, 4.35 inches. Nick Cox was the runner-up with 43 feet, 2 inches. Garrett Trevino was ninth with 37 feet, 11 inches. Cox won the discus with 137 feet, 4 inches. Carney was sixth at 111 feet, 11 inches. Cooper McMillan took eighth with a throw of 103 feet, 3 inches.
Fernando Perez took second in the 1,600 with a time of 5:04.15 and second in the 3,200 with a time of 10:38.79. George Light IV took third in the 800 with a time of 2:19.76.
Brandon Cantu was fourth in 2:21.36.

The 1,600 relay of Chad Davidson, Light, Peyton Davidson and Cash Morgan won third with a time of 3:45.07. Trevino, Davidson, Davidson and Morgan took third in the 400 realy with a time of 45.34 seconds. They also combined on the 800 relay for fifth with a time of 1:36.69. Tioga’s Sam Mott won the district title in the 400 with a time of 52.73 seconds. Jake David was the runner-up in 54.76 seconds. Mott also was took second in the 110 hurdles in 16.13 seconds. Jaxton Dejernett took fourth in 17.44 seconds. Raul Chavez was seventh. Mott was the runner-up in the 200 meter dash with a time of 22.74 seconds. Austin Norwood placed third in 22.87 seconds. Justin Arrington was sixth in 23.78 seconds. Kyson Kirkland was the runner-up in the 800 with a time of 2:15.54. Wesley Willmon was eighth in 2:26.37.

The 800 relay of Jonathan Hernandez, Arrington, David and Norwood took second in 1:34.05. The 1,600 relay of Arrington, Kirkland, David and Norwood won second in 3:36.68.
James Culp won third in the 100 meter dash in 11.28 seconds. Rocky Urich was seventh. Alexis Santoyo-Pina won third in the 1,600 with a time of 5:10.77. Garrison Black finished fourth in 5:11.52. Santoyo-Pina was also third in the 3,200 with a time of 11:23.02. Black took sixth.

The 400 relay of Gage Anderson, Culp, Slade Babbitt and Jonathan Hernandez was fifth in 45.69 seconds. David placed fifth in the long jump. Anderson was sixth. Jonathan Hernandez was 10th. Urich was sixth in the high jump at five feet, four inches. Chavez was sixth in the 300 hurdles with a time of 47.11 seconds. Dejernett was eighth in the triple jump. Preston Koch was ninth. Kirkland was 10th. Julian Hernandez was 12th in the discus. Kooper Vandagriff and Cooper Fisher tied for 16th. Tyson Monk was 12th in the shot put. Fisher was 14th.

Bearcats edge C’burg
The Whitesboro Bearcat baseball team edged Callisburg 6-5 Tuesday, April 2 on the road. Camden Stephens homered and walked for the Bearcats. Brayden Bomar doubled, walked, drove in two and scored. Landon Newkirk was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. Maxx Parker doubled, walked, drove in a run and scored once. Max Hinsley singled and scored once.
Dax Martin doubled. The win took Whitesboro to 12-8 on the year and 6-1 in district. Jake Westerfield doubled, drove in two and scored once for Callisburg.

Rams lose to Paradise 
The S&S Ram baseball team was left still looking for a district win after a 23-1 district loss to Paradise Tuesday, April 2 on the road. Brody Colwell was 2-for-2 and scored the lone Ram run. Landon Lewis singled and walked. Joe Orr and Paig Morgan both singled. The loss took S&S to 0-7 in district play.

Tioga tops Trenton
The Tioga Bulldog baseball team picked up a big district win on April 2 when they toppled Trenton 12-1 in six innings. Hayden Hilliard was 3-for-4 with three RBIs and scored twice for the Bulldogs. Johnny Dorpinghaus went 2-for-2 with a double, walked twice, drove in two. He also allowed a run on six hits with seven strikeouts and three walks in five innings. Landon Bingham was 2-for-3, walked and drove in three. Austin Norwood went 2-for-5 with a double, two RBIs and scored three times. Gage Anderson singled, walked twice and scored three times. Slade Babbitt singled and scored twice. The win took Tioga to 9-8 on the year and 4-3 in district play.

Lady Rams beat Pilot Point
The S&S Lady Ram softball team picked up another district win Tuesday, April 2 with a 7-4 defeat of Pilot Point on the road. Hayden Mowrey went 2-for-3 with two home runs, walked and drove in four. She also threw three perfect innings. Hannah Foster went 2-for-5 with a double, drove in a run and scored once. Hayden Kight went 2-for-4 and scored. Lily Nunn was 2-for-4 and drove in a run. Tynslie Adcock was 2-for-3 with a double and a walk. Makayla Adams drove in a run and scored once. The win tool S&S to 20-5 on the year and 8-1 in district play.

Lady Bulldogs beat Lindsay
The Tioga Lady Bulldog softball team beat Lindsay 13-8 last week at home in district play. Bella Dennis went 4-for-4 with a home run, walked, drove in four runs and scored three times.
Kyndall Whitley went 4-for-4 and a double shy of the cycle with two RBIs and scored twice. Taffi Adams went 3-for-5 and scored three times. Lauren Sheppard was 2-for-2 with a double, walked twice, drove in a run and scored once. Kennedy Slay singled, walked, drove in a run and scored three times. Channing Hurst doubled, drove in a run and scored once. Ella Norwood singled and drove in two runs. The will took Tioga to 15-5 on the year and 6-3 in district.

Lady Pirates lose to Muenster 
The Collinsville Lady Pirate softball team came up on the wrong end off a 6-1 loss to Lindsay last week at home. Audrey Miller singled, walked, scored once and stole three bases.
Jaydee Matlock walked three times. Tessa Vannoy also walked for Collinsville. The loss took Collinsville to 15-9 on the year and 6-3 in district.
