Lady Cats top C’burg
The Whitesboro Lady Cat softball team opened district play March 5 with a 15-0 rout over the Callisburg Wildcats at home. 
Melanie Baldwin was 2-for-2 with a pair of home runs, walked, drove in five and scored three times. 
Maci Graves threw a no-hitter with four strikeouts and two walks.
Addison McBride was 2-for-2 with two doubles, walked, drove in two and scored twice.
Avery Howerton was 2-for-2 with a triple, walked, drove in a run and scored three times.
Olivia Hildebrand singled, walked, drove in two and scored twice.
Makayla Wolf singled, drove in two and scored.
Keely Hartless singled, walked and scored for Whitesboro.
The win came after the end of the third inning and took the Lady Cats to 12-6 on the year.

Pirate softball comes up big against St. Jo
The Collinsville Lady Pirate softball team made a statement with a 21-6 win over St. Jo in their district opener on March 5. 
Tessa Vannoy was 2-for-5 with a home run, four RBI and scored three times.
Audrey Miller was 3-for-4 with a double, walked, drove in four and scored.
Haidyn Bryson was 2-for-4 with a homer and three RBI.
Shelby Derzapf was 2-for-3 with a triple, walked twice, drove in two and scored three times.
Reece Elvington was 2-for-3 with a double, walked twice, drove in three and scored three times.
Devyn Elvington tripled, walked twice, drove in two and scored twice.
Bailey Miller walked four times and scored twice for Collinsville.
The win took Collinsville to 10-6 on the year.

Lady Bulldogs run over Nocona
The Tioga Lady Bulldog softball team opened district play March 5 with a 14-5 win over Nocona in five innings.  
Kyndal Whitley was 3-for-4, with five RBI and scored four times.
Ainsley Denham was 3-for-4 with three RBI.
Channing Hurst was 2-for-2, walked twice and scored four times.
Lauren Sheppard was 2-for-4 and drove in a run.
Kennedy Slay was 2-for-3 and scored.
Taffi Adams singled, walked, drove in a run and scored twice.
Bella Dennis doubled and scored for Tioga.
The win took Tioga to 10-2 on the year.

Tioga tops Gainesville 
The Tioga Bulldog baseball team topped Gainesville 9-6 in non-district action on March 5.  
Landon Bingham was 2-for-4 with a double, two RBI and scored twice.
Hayden Hilliard was 2-for-4 with a double and scored.
Gage Anderson was 2-for-4, walked and drove in a run.
Johnny Dorpinghaus singled, walked twice and scored.
Caden Maldonado singled, walked, drove in a run and scored.
Jonah Grubbs doubled, walked and drove in a run.
Sam Mott singled, walked and scored.
The win took Tioga to 2-4 on the year.

Locals named to All-District roster
All district basketball selections are out and several local female players have garnered recognition.
Local all-district 10-3A girls basketball team are as follows:
