A Grayson County grand jury returned dozens of felony indictments released Oct. 8, including charges involving sexual assault of a child, burglary, organized criminal activity, theft, drug possession and delivery, aggravated assault and repeat driving while intoxicated offenses.
Among those indicted was Cameron Heath Clayton, 41, of Sherman, who faces 12 counts involving alleged sexual offenses against children. The charges include seven counts of sexual assault of a child, two counts of indecency with a child by exposure, one count of indecency with a child by sexual contact and one count of possession with intent to promote child pornography. The alleged offenses occurred between April and July 2026.
Jacob Edward Barnett, 36, of Durant, Oklahoma, was named in five separate indictments for burglary of a building, stemming from alleged offenses between March and May. He was also indicted on a separate charge of possession of methamphetamine.
The grand jury also returned multiple indictments involving organized criminal activity and theft of metals, including aluminum, bronze, copper and brass. Several defendants face charges of burglary, theft and engaging in organized criminal activity.
Other indictments included aggravated assault, family violence, forgery, tampering with evidence, drug possession, failure to comply with sex offender registration requirements and driving while intoxicated.
An indictment is a formal accusation by a grand jury and is not evidence of guilt. All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
