Planting seeds of change is a goal that Joe “Art” Jones has been achieving with his creative works across North Texas. Digital Dawg Graphixx and MMXX Studio bring transforming creativity to life.

As a child, Jones struggled with staying out of trouble, but only when he wasn’t drawing. His grandma, who ran a craft business across North Texas, and her two sisters realized that and pulled him into their little world of crafting. Growing up, he helped them create pottery, mums, apparel and all kinds of other crafts and creative work.

In high school, Jones had a dream of becoming a mural artist. After his art teacher encouraged him to go to art school, he found himself at the Art institute in Dallas. While there, he learned a myriad of skills in different creative areas but had to put his artwork on hold for a long time after some personal issues occurred.

He worked a wide variety of blue-collar jobs, spent some time in prison and went through recovery programs. Sadly, his grandma passed away in 2017. Her last wish for Jones was to take care of her “garden” – the creativity whose seeds she had been planting all over North Texas and Oklahoma for years.

Jones grew up helping her grow her creative garden by making crafts in a variety of facets. Any job he ever had could never fulfill him the way art did. While his childhood dream sat in the corner, Jones started challenging himself to start painting everyday and make his dream a reality.

Before his nephew was born, Jones ran back home to make sure he could be there for him. He realized that seeds need roots to grow, so he planted roots of creativity and started running Digital Dawg Graphixx and MMXX Studio in Tom Bean. He does work for clients all across the area, in places like Collinsville, Whitesboro and more.

Digital Dawg Graphixx is an outlet for all of the digital creative skills Jones learned during his time at the Art Institute, like logos, custom apparel, decal stickers, banners, sign work and other digital media.

MMXX Studio is for all of the physical artwork Jones makes, such as commissioned paintings, illustrations and especially murals.

Despite life’s struggles, Jones could not let go of the quality of life that art gave him. He wanted to provide creative solutions to other people like his grandma did. He loves to let his artwork go back to good causes with donations made to schools, booster clubs and toy drives in Texas and Oklahoma.

Through his work, Jones hopes to impact and inspire others to plant their own seeds of change. MMXX, his signature on all artwork, represents a life transition from the old world he came from and the continuation of his new legacy.

Jones wants to make sure that everything he does reflects well in the eyes of his biggest fan, his nephew. While maintaining the standards and expectations of being a “cool uncle,” he is excited for the day when his nephew asks him to bring his creative ideas to life.

With Digital Dawg Graphixx and MMXX Studio, Jones continues to plant seeds of change everyday and hopes to inspire other people to grow their own creative garden.
