A Whitesboro man who co-owns a local cheerleading and tumbling gym was arrested Oct. 8 on two felony charges involving a child.

Alan Ray Miles was arrested by the Whitesboro Police Department on Oct. 9 and booked into the Grayson County Jail on charges of aggravated sexual assault of a child (rape) and indecency with a child by exposure.

Miles is a co-owner of Ranch Cheer and Tumble, a Whitesboro business offering cheerleading and tumbling classes for children.

According to Grayson County Jail records, Miles was booked into jail Oct. 8.

Bond was set at $900,000 on each charge, for a combined total of $1.8 million. Both bonds were listed as surety bonds with conditions. As of press time, Miles has not posted bond and is still in the Grayson County Jail.

The charges were listed under warrants issued by Justice of the Peace Precinct 3.

As of press time, the Whitesboro Police Department has not made any more information available about the arrest though a Public Information request has been filed by the News-Record.

Additional details about the alleged offenses, including whether they are connected to the gym, have not been released.

Miles is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
