Area runners claim team titles at Blue Ridge, Denison

Blue Ridge Invitational
The Whitesboro boys and girls swept the team titles at the Blue Ridge Invitational.

The Bearcats took the boys title with 101 points, while Whitewright placed fifth with 139 points, Van Alstyne was 11th with 307 and Tom Bean finished 21st with 606.

Jaxsen McBride led Whitesboro with a sixth-place time of 18:14.89, while Bentley Meals was 17th in 18:51.64, Eric Flores was 19th in 19:00.57, Slade Prock was 26th in 19:17.23, Creede Newman placed 33rd in 19:32.23, Chase Timulson was 70th in 20:46.71 and Evan Delarosa was 86th in 21:49.38.

Logan Vehar led Whitewright with a 15th-place time of 18:42.20, while Jonathan Flores was 16th in 18:44.52, Jack Philpott was 31st in 19:28.82, Luke Mortensen was 32nd in 19:30.85, Levi Sallas was 47th in 19:56.20 and Bobby Reynolds was 49th in 19:58.72.

Curtis Thomas led Tom Bean with a 121st-place time of 23:42.54, while Max Donihoo was 124th in 24:10.84, Jack Williams was 142nd in 26:08.55, Vernon Hulme was 144th in 26:38.14 and Troy Lunsford was 152nd in 28:20.11.

The Lady Bearcats won the girls title with 39 points, while Van Alstyne finished fourth with 140.

Nya Degraffenreed led Whitesboro by winning the individual title with a time of 12:41.65. Karen Melchor was sixth in 13:19.22, Loretta Vawter was 13th in 13:51.54, Jasmin Hernandez was 16th in 13:55.67, Tammy Lopez was 22nd in 14:09.02, Paisley Blevins was 24th in 14:27.18 and McKenna Scoggins was 72nd in 15:45.32.

Tom Bean’s Kami Poole was the runner-up with a time of 12:51.66, while Karly Sprouse was 123rd in 18:27.95.

Denison Invitational
The S&S boys won the team title at the Denison Invitational, while Sherman placed third.

The Rams finished with 68 points, edging McKinney Boyd by one point for the title. Sherman was third with 96 points, Denison placed seventh with 171 and Gunter was ninth with 202.

Rhody Gingras led S&S with a third-place time of 17:03.04, while Donaven Gingras was eighth in 17:34.57, Matthew Flores was 11th in 17:49.29, Kevin Flores Valenzuela was 16th in 18:14.19, Ruben Chavez Gomez was 32nd in 19:00.19, Tanner Scoggins was 43rd in 19:27.83 and Aiden Hickerson was 45th in 19:33.33.

The S&S girls placed fifth, while Sherman finished eighth.

Dandree Meeks led the Lady Rams with an eighth-place time of 13:25.65, while Ayvah Gentry was 23rd in 14:32.68, Kenzi Perry was 31st in 14:51.08, McKinley Hollingsworth was 52nd in 16:10.47, Janet Chavez was 55th in 16:20.48, Hope Everett was 65th in 17:02.30 and Chloe Pelzel was 78th in 19:01.60.

Bells’ Teagan Middleton placed 11th with a time of 13:34.87, while Ava Shirley was 37th in 15:42.73.

Lindsay Invitational
The Tioga Bulldogs earned a third-place finish at the Lindsay Invitational.

Tioga totaled 90 points to finish behind champion Windthorst with 16 points and runner-up Lindsay with 67.

Garrison Black led the Bulldogs with an eighth-place time of 18:48.35, while Hayden Manzo was 12th in 19:37.84, Knox Daniels was 15th in 19:54.45, Maddux Rodriguez was 28th in 21:19.71, Bryan Santoyo-Pina placed 41st in 22:52.30, Koli Goree finished 47th in 23:40.31 and Adrian Pachicano was 54th in 24:37.60.

Jillian Rodriguez led the Tioga girls with a 15th-place time of 16:11.36, while Skilar Hodge was 33rd in 18:02.65, Noelle Furlong was 44th in 19:10.94 and Khloe Lange was 46th in 19:22.85.
