A Grayson County grand jury returned another round of felony indictments released Sept. 16, including charges involving aggravated assault, drug possession and delivery, burglary, organized criminal activity, family violence and repeat driving while intoxicated offenses.
Among those indicted was Reginald Ernest Hafner, 85, of Ottawa, on charges of indecency with a child by sexual contact, online solicitation of a minor under 14 and employing, inducing or authorizing a child to engage in a sexual performance.
Mackanthony Terrell Caraway, 18, of Denison, was named in five separate indictments involving theft, burglary, criminal mischief and engaging in organized criminal activity. Jaelyn Dewayne Cobbs, 20, of Hendrix, was indicted on two aggravated assault charges and criminal mischief in one case and evading arrest or detention with a vehicle in another.
The grand jury also returned numerous indictments involving methamphetamine, fentanyl, heroin and cocaine, as well as several cases involving organized retail theft and family violence.
An indictment is a formal accusation by a grand jury and is not evidence of guilt. All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
