Mt. Pleasant Bible Church will be hosting a food pantry from 6-8 p.m. on Sept. 30. The church is seeking items and volunteers to make this event a success.
Last Saturday, the food pantry was open from 9-11 a.m. However, because so many families attended, the pantry didn’t close until 11:30 a.m.
The church was able to serve 67 families that day (21 of which were new to their pantry). This means 283 people were helped in all.
After such a successful day, the pantry shelves need to be restocked before the end of the month. The church is in need of food items ranging from canned beans and cereal cups to pasta and sugar.
They also need supplies like brown paper and white plastic grocery sacks.
