This Saturday, Pilot Point Neighborhood Events will host its 4th annual Oktoberfest on the historic Pilot Point Square. From noon to 6 p.m., everyone is welcome to enjoy a day of family-friendly activities while honoring the German roots on which Pilot Point was founded.
Gates and vendor booths open at noon, and the day kicks off with the tapping of the keg. At 12:30 p.m., judges will assess the pretzel baking contest followed by a dachshund race at 2 p.m. behind Leo’s Pizzeria. Sack races will take place at 3 p.m. as Brave Combo takes the stage to provide live music for festival attendees. A stein hoisting contest kicks off at 4 p.m. and a dancing contest will be held at 5 p.m.
The Kidz Zone and dunking booth will run the whole day, and visitors can also enjoy a beer tent, miniature train rides, traditional German dancers, face painting, more than 35 food and craft vendors, a Volkswagen show presented by Das-Klub and more. Pilot Point Neighborhood Events will be selling tickets for a signed Tyler Alexander baseball cap donated by the Texas Rangers.
Proceeds from the event will benefit Lovepacs, a non-profit organization that provides meals to students who would otherwise go hungry during school holidays. Proceeds will also go to hosting other neighborhood events, such as Taste of Pilot Point, as well as benefiting other non-profits.
