History Club to kick off new season with guest speaker, recognitions

On Sept. 21, the GFWC History Club of Whitesboro will hold its first meeting under its new administration. This will include the recognition of new officers, new projects and new themes.

The elected officers for the 2026-2028 administration are President Wanda Godso; President Elect Keisha Head; 1st Vice President Donna Parkinson and 2nd Vice President Carla Woolsey. This year’s theme will be “Celebrating Our Heritage.”

“All year long we’ll be doing just that – celebrating!” Godso said.

To kick-off the new season, the club will welcome Captain Perry Patrick as the meeting’s guest speaker. Captain Perry is a retired U.S. Army combat veteran, author, speaker and leader who brings powerful stories, real-world lessons and a unique blend of humor and heart to every stage.

All interested parties are invited to attend this meeting, free of charge, at 6:30 p.m. at the FUMC Wesley Hall in Whitesboro.
