Something has to give when former district rivals Tioga and Tom Bean meet Friday night.
Both teams enter the contest fresh off victories — the Tomcats a 39-0 win against Valley View and the Bulldogs a 26-6 victory against Callisburg. Only one will continue its winning streak when Tioga (1-2) hosts Tom Bean (2-1) at 7 p.m. at Bulldog Stadium.
In the win against Callisburg, Jake David led the way with six catches for 81 yards and a touchdown to go with nine carries for 74 yards. David leads the Bulldogs in rushing with 159 yards and a touchdown on 23 carries and receiving with 14 catches for 165 yards and two touchdowns.
Cole Boyd also had a big night for Tioga, passing for 177 yards and three touchdowns. He has thrown for 545 yards and six touchdowns this season.
Quesyn Arrington had two catches for 33 yards and a touchdown and returned a kickoff 85 yards for another score, while Jaxson Hurst had six catches for 48 yards and a touchdown against Callisburg. Arrington has 10 catches for 131 yards and two touchdowns this season, while Hurst has 15 catches for 154 yards and two scores.
Henry Cheek led the way in Tom Bean’s win against Valley View, passing for 252 yards and two touchdowns while rushing for 115 yards and three scores. He has thrown for 618 yards and eight touchdowns and rushed for 172 yards and four scores this season.
Cain Pearson had seven catches for 133 yards and a touchdown, while Jacob Lind added five catches for 61 yards and a score against Valley View. Pearson has 19 catches for 160 yards and three touchdowns this season, Lind has 11 catches for 127 yards and two scores and Paxton Parrish has 12 catches for 109 yards and three touchdowns.
