On Sept. 9, Callisburg ISD Superintendent Chris Bradshaw announced on social media that a district employee had been arrested and placed on administrative leave due to alleged off-campus conduct while police investigated the charges.

The suspect, Callisburg fourth-grade math teacher and Collinsville resident Spencer Brewer, was arrested on charges of online solicitation of a minor - sexual conduct.

In a sting operation conducted by third-party YouTuber JiDion Adams and his group, Expose Dat Predator (EDP), the group posed online as a 13-year-old girl. Once they made contact with Brewer, the conversations took on a sexual nature despite Brewer’s knowledge of the decoy’s age. Eventually, Brewer stopped responding to the contact and tried to delete the  messages, but EDP had preserved the conversations. Despite using an alias, Brewer was identified by EDP who then reported him to Collinsville police.

After reviewing the resulting evidence and statements, the Collinsville Police Department (CPD) conducted its own investigation and secured an arrest warrant for Brewer. Police Chief Jon Cheshrie arrested Brewer at his home and took him into custody.

Adams said EDP, who has been tracking people online for a couple of years, has caught nearly 200 people across the country. While the case against Brewer is the first teacher-involved case the group has handled, EDP has caught people in jobs like law enforcement and nursing.

Although EDP refers cases to law enforcement, it’s up to the prosecutors to decide whether to pursue charges. So far, none of the group’s cases have gone to trial as defendants have pleaded out.

This case is currently under investigation and no further details are available at this time.
