The General Federation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC) held its Annual Convention June 25–30 in Scottsdale, Arizona. Whitesboro’s Patricia Davis was among 16 clubwomen representing Texas at the event.
The six-day convention featured business sessions, educational workshops, awards presentations, themed celebrations, banquets and the installation of the 2026–2028 GFWC officers.
Among the honors presented to Texas was an award recognizing the state’s outstanding membership growth, including its success in chartering new clubs. Three new Texas clubs were recognized, two of which were founded by Davis: the North Texas Woman’s Club of Bells and the Lake Area Woman’s Club of Gordonville. This achievement reflects the dedication of Texas clubwomen to strengthening the Federation and helping it thrive for generations to come.
Texas also received the Creativity Award for Communications and Public Relations. Davis accepted the award in her role as GFWC Texas Communications and Public Relations Chairman. The honor recognized the Lake Area Woman’s Club and the History Club of Whitesboro for their participation in World Singing Day during the Annual Peanut Festival.
The convention concluded with the Unity in Diversity Banquet and the installation of the 2026–2028 GFWC Executive Officers, who officially began their terms of service. Following adjournment, members celebrated one final time with music, dancing, laughter and the friendships formed throughout the week.
