On Friday, Aug. 14, Whitesboro first responders received a call around 9:21 p.m. about a car that had struck a house near East Main and Bois D’Arc Streets.
While the incident is still under investigation by the police department, it appears the vehicle had been traveling westbound on Main Street when it went off the roadway, drove through a power pole guidewire, crashed through a fence, plowed through trees and struck the side of the house at 807 East Main Street.
Resident Krista Mitcheson posted an update on social media following the incident.
“We were in the house,” she wrote. “We’re all okay. Thankfully my older car was parked right there and took the main impact, because my daughter’s room is right there where my car is.”
The driver of the vehicle was transported to the hospital by EMS.
