On Tuesday, Aug. 11, around 150 WISD employees enjoyed a spaghetti luncheon at the First United Methodist Church Wesley Hall in Whitesboro. There, they were given book bags and school supplies along with lunch and homemade desserts.
“We are so glad we can show our support to our educators as they get ready to do the hard work of educating our children,” said Kristin Burris who, along with others, led this effort. “We want them to feel the love and support of the church community this school year, especially where so many are moving schools and classrooms!”
The church hosted teachers, paraprofessionals, cafeteria workers, counselors, coaches and administrators. Reverend Chuck Church, the new pastor at the Methodist Church, welcomed all and prayed over the food and the coming school year.
