On Wednesday, Jan. 31, the Bearcats and Lady Cats wrestling teams competed in the District 9 5A wrestling tournament at McKinney North.
Seven wrestlers advanced to the regional tournament. Both the boys and the girls teams finished 7th overall out of 15 schools.
District placers and regional qualifiers are as follows:
Girls District Placers and Regional Qualifiers
Brylee Weddle and Shelby Riddle both placed 3rd.
Sophia Salas placed 4th and Maysi Rentfrow earned 5th place alternate
Boys District Placers and Regional Qualifiers
Collin Phillips was District Champion. Korbin Ross placed 3rd and Shayne Gabbert earned 5th place alternate.
Regionals will be held Feb. 9 and 10 at Anna High School.
