Beginning July 31, the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will close Plainview Road to begin work on the Harris Creek Bridge replacement project.
According to Grayson County Commissioner Precinct 3 Lindsay Wright, during a routine bridge assessment, TxDOT found the Harris Creek Bridge to be structurally deficient and in need of a full replacement.
“This is a conversation that began in February,” Wright said. “We learned this week that it’s beginning on Friday, so we’re eager to get the word out to our Grayson County drivers.”
Plainview Road is expected to remain closed through October 2026 while this project is completed. Drivers should plan alternate routes and allow extra travel time during the closure. As always, please watch for road crews, slow down in work zones and obey all road signs.
“Thank you for your patience as we continue working to improve the roads and infrastructure in Precinct 3,” Wright wrote in a social media post early Monday morning.
