Life is about balance for new Collinsville business

COLLINSVILLE - On the morning of Wednesday, July 22, Felisha Larance cut the ribbon in front of Balance on Collinsville’s Main Street, signifying the grand opening of the town’s newest business. 

From its beginnings as a booth in farmer’s markets and then to a trailer, Balance has now officially moved into a brick-and-mortar shop on the square. Larance says that after posting content of her products on social media and receiving positive feedback and abundant support, she decided to take the opportunity of opening a storefront when it arose.  

She has always dreamed of opening her own restaurant, and her customers excitedly encouraged her to do so. Larance is a very vibrant cook who is passionate about what she does. She loves exploring different types of dishes and is excited to introduce new flavors to Collinsville while still offering the traditional foods people know and love. 

Larance is experimenting with different foods and continuously editing her menu based on feedback and requests she receives from customers. She hopes to expand her menu to include full meals, as cooking is what she loves most and she would like to share her dishes with the community. 

Supporting small local businesses is important to Larance and she believes that many of those businesses are great additions to the community. She believes that if local businesses work together, they can bring even bigger things to our communities. Her mission with Balance is to help support a healthy, balanced lifestyle for everyone in the community. 

She enjoys being able to provide plenty of options for people with specific needs, such as turmeric drinks or no-syrup options for those with diabetes. Her fresh pressed juices have become a favorite among customers. It is entertaining and reassuring to customers when they get to enjoy watching her muddle fresh, natural ingredients and watch their juice come straight from the source. 

There are no additives or chemicals in them, offering peace of mind that you are consuming something that is truly healthy and will make you feel good. 

Since opening, Balance has been busy. Larance is very grateful for all the support and is excited looking to the future. While feeling very fortunate, she is eager to see how far Balance can grow. To her, everything in life comes down to a balance and she is proud to provide a place that reflects that for the community.
