The Tioga community turned out in force to celebrate Independence Day while supporting the Tioga Volunteer Fire Department during the department’s annual Fourth of July celebration.

Following the event, the department thanked residents, sponsors, volunteers and community partners for helping make this year’s celebration “another incredible success,” noting that community support allows the all-volunteer department to continue serving Tioga.

The department expressed appreciation to attendees for their encouragement and generosity, reminding residents that donations directly support its mission of protecting and serving the community. Officials noted that tax-deductible contributions can still be made through the department’s website, by mail or through donation QR codes distributed during the event.

Fire department leaders also recognized the many organizations and individuals who helped make the celebration possible.

Among those thanked were the event’s sponsors and food vendors, the City of Tioga Public Works Department for preparing the event site, Tioga City Hall staff, the Tioga City Council, the Tioga Economic Development Corporation, Tioga ISD for use of its campus and equipment, Rockstars of Tomorrow for providing live entertainment and Mr. Mayo for hosting the viewing area.

The department reserved its highest praise for its volunteer firefighters, who spent countless hours planning the celebration, working throughout the holiday and helping ensure a safe Independence Day for the community.

Officials also recognized the families of volunteer firefighters, thanking them for the sacrifices they make each year by supporting loved ones who spend holidays serving the community.

“Thank you for believing in your volunteer fire department,” the department said in its message to the community. “We are honored to serve this incredible community and look forward to many more years of celebrating together.”

The department is also seeking photos and videos from the celebration. Residents who captured images or video during the event are encouraged to submit them through the department’s Facebook page by private message or by posting them in the comments for possible use on the department’s website and social media.
