Collinsville-based gift and apparel company Ruby’s Rubbish is warning customers to be aware of a fraudulent website impersonating the business by using its photos and designs to sell counterfeit products.
In a social media post, the company alerted customers that a website not affiliated with Ruby’s Rubbish has copied the business’s branding and imagery in an apparent attempt to deceive shoppers.
Business owners emphasized that the only official Ruby’s Rubbish websites are rubysrubbish.com and rubysrubbishwholesale.com
Customers are encouraged to avoid purchasing from any other websites claiming to represent the company.
According to the post, orders placed through the fraudulent website are not fulfilled by Ruby’s Rubbish, and the company cannot provide assistance with refunds, customer service or product issues related to purchases made through the fake site.
The business also urged customers not to search for or visit the fraudulent website to avoid driving additional traffic to it.
Founded in 2014, Ruby’s Rubbish has built a following through its original designs and faith-based products featuring humor, encouragement and Christian messages.
The company asked supporters who encounter suspicious websites or advertisements using the Ruby’s Rubbish name or products to report the pages, avoid clicking on their links and share the warning with others.
“We are so thankful for you,” the business wrote in its message to customers. “This community is truly the best.”
Business owners said the warning is intended to help protect customers from scams while preserving the integrity of the Ruby’s Rubbish brand.
