North Texas Medical Center (NTMC) is pleased to announce the addition of Dustin C. Woods, MD, a board-certified general surgeon, to the NTMC Health Surgical Specialists team. Dr. Woods joins the hospital’s medical staff to expand access to high-quality, close-to-home surgical interventions for residents of Cooke County and the surrounding communities.
He will work alongside Dr. Leah Dill at the NTMC Health Surgical Specialists Clinic. Dr. Woods specializes in a broad range of general surgery procedures, including minimally invasive hernia repairs, gallbladder removals and appendectomies, as well as colonoscopies and other endoscopy procedures.

Dr. Woods earned his medical degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine and completed his general surgery residency at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas. Prior to joining NTMC, he practiced as a Staff Surgeon at Southwestern Medical Center in Lawton, Okla., where he built a reputation for compassionate patient communication and clinical excellence.
He says he is excited to join the NTMC team.
“I wasn’t born in Texas but I got here as quick as I could and am happy to be returning to North Texas with my family,” Dr. Woods said. “I am honored to join the team at North Texas Medical Center and I am impressed with the hospital’s dedication to patients and quality care. I look forward to working with Dr. Dill in the Department of Surgery and the rest of the medical staff to provide both routine and emergency surgical services.”
Dr. Woods and his wife, Amy have two young children. He is an outdoor enthusiast who enjoys hiking, fishing and camping.
