As part of its National Hospital Week celebration, North Texas Medical Center (NTMC) held its annual Employee Recognition Ceremony on Friday, May 15.
The ceremony included recognition of employees who reached milestones in service years at NTMC, as well as several special awards.
The Employee of the Year for 2025 was Mindy Keys, Nurse of the Year was Jacki Groce and Director of the Year was Marian Sweet.
Keys, a Clinical Pharmacy Manager at NTMC, was presented her award by Pharmacy Director Tyson Chapman.
Chief Clinical Officer Bonnier Hess presented the Nurse of the Year award to Groce, a Registered Nurse in the Labor and Delivery department.
The Director of the Year award was presented to Sweet by NTMC Chief Financial Officer Mike Ducote. Sweet is the hospital’s Director of Patient Financial Services.
An additional award, the Mike Williams Award for Compassion and Community Service, was also presented to Keys. This award honors employees who exemplify humanitarian values and a deep commitment to serving both their patients and their communities. The award is named in honor of Mike Williams, the founding Chief Executive Officer of Community Hospital Corporation.
Several NTMC employees were also recognized for their years of service to the hospital. Seven NTMC employees were honored for five years of service including Ana Cervantez, Hayle Dangelmayr, Troy Griffin, Jamie Henry, Krystal Powell, Lauren Taylor and Danna Zellman.
Employees honored for 10 years of service included Rosalba Castillo, James Fritts and Cassandra Hodges.
Junior Masias was recognized for 20 years of service, Marcella Mullins was honored for 25 years of service at NTMC and Brenda Case was honored for 30 years of service.
National Hospital Week is an opportunity to highlight hospitals, health systems and health care workers and the innovative ways they are supporting and connected to their community.
NTMC’s theme for Hospital Week was “Small Town, Big Hearts.” In addition to each employee receiving a Hospital Week t-shirt, the staff was treated to sweet treats from the NTMC Auxiliary, iced coffee from First State Bank and snow cones courtesy of Heart to Heart Hospice, Cornerstone Caregiving and 1st Texas Home Health. On Wednesday, a hamburger lunch was sponsored by Heart to Heart Hospice and Pecan Tree Rehabilitation and Healthcare. The NTMC Employee Engagement Team provided a dirty soda bar one day and street tacos for lunch another day.
