S&S High School hosted the Middle School and High School End of the Year Choir Concert on Tuesday, May 12, showcasing the musical talents of students under the direction of choir teacher Angela Russell. Families, administration, staff and community members gathered to enjoy an evening of vocal performances by both middle and high school students.

Throughout the evening, audience members enjoyed a variety of performances featuring choir ensembles and student soloists. Solo performances were given by Hagen Ehrhardt, Zoey Heidelberg, Leighanna Hensley, Sophia Keita, Isabella Mann, McKenzie Ridenour, Violet Robinson and Addyson Russell. Each student demonstrated confidence, talent and passion through their performances.

Special recognition was also given to graduating seniors Jacqueline Braley, Natalie Hightower and Isabella Mann for their contributions and commitment to the choir program during their high school careers.

Group performances by the middle school and high school choir highlighted the students’ hard work and effort throughout the school year. Audience members responded with enthusiastic applause following the performances, showing appreciation for the students’ musical accomplishments and the effort put into the concert.

The evening served as a celebration of the S&S CISD choir department and showcased the talent and dedication of students involved in the program.

Then, on Tuesday, May 19, the S&S Middle School Band Concert was held at S&S High School, bringing together student musicians for an evening performance highlighting a wide range of classical and contemporary works.

Under the direction of Brooke Grabowski, the ensemble performed selections by some of the most influential composers in music history. The program featured works by Ludwig van
Beethoven, John Williams, Edvard Grieg, along with compositions by John Higgins, Larry Daehn, Michael Story, and Robert W. Smith.

The concert provided students an opportunity to demonstrate technical growth, ensemble performance skills, and musical expression across a variety of styles and difficulty levels. Each selection contributed to a program that balanced classical foundations with modern concert band literature.

The performance served as a meaningful reflection of the dedication, perseverance, and heart the students have poured into their music throughout the school year. Each note performed represented hours of practice, growth through challenges, and a shared commitment to something greater than themselves, culminating in a concert that celebrated both their progress and their passion for music.
