Recently, the West Grayson Retired School Personnel Association (WGRSPA) presented books to Collinsville ISD’s 52 third graders for the chapter’s third book project of this school year. Eight CHS seniors, all members of FCCLA, read to groups of students from a copy of their new book, “The World According to Humphrey,” by Betty G. Birney.

In addition to the books, each third grader received a colorful, magnetic bookmark supplied and presented by Laurie Davenport.

Third grade teachers are Christi Light, math; Aleesha Hacker, English, language arts and reading; and Crystal Farmer, social studies and science.

As the third graders eagerly read their own copies of the book, each will find a personal note addressed to him or her from Mrs. Hacker.

Davenport and Sharon Lively were the WGRSPA members involved.
