S&S FFA banquet recognizes leaders, officers, scholarship recipients
Numerous students were honored and recognized at the annual S&S FFA Banquet held on May 5.

At the annual S&S FFA Banquet held Tuesday, May 5, administration, teachers, students and families gathered to celebrate the accomplishments and leadership of the S&S High School FFA chapter throughout the school year. The evening recognized student leaders, scholarship recipients, chapter officers and the continued success of the agricultural education program.

The banquet highlighted the dedication and hard work of chapter members under the leadership of agriculture teachers Shelly Mowrey and Gary Schnitker.

Students serving as chapter officers were recognized for their commitment and service to the organization. Officers included President Maddie Clater, Vice President Will Pelzel, Secretary Maycee Bell Jaresh, Treasurer Tate Baca, Reporter Annabelle Pelzel, Advisor Baylie Emmert and Sentinel Macey Airhart.

Several members were recognized with special chapter awards during the evening. Starlyn Schnitker received the Top Hand Award, while Maddie Clater and Maycee Bell Jaresh were named Star Chapter Farmers. Tate Baca earned the Star Greenhand Award.

Scholarships were also presented to graduating seniors in recognition of their hard work and dedication. The Friends of S&S FFA Memorial Scholarship in memory of Sue Hayes, Dan Wright and Ronnie Melton was awarded to Parker Ringger and Isabella Mann.

The Dusty Wainscott Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Hayden Mowrey. The Jay Roberts Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Starlyn Schnitker and Gabby Russell.

Throughout the evening, members were recognized for their involvement, leadership and contributions to the chapter during the school year. The banquet served as a time to reflect on the success of the program and the opportunities FFA provides students through leadership development, agricultural education, and community involvement.

The S&S High School FFA chapter continues to play an important role in preparing students for future success both inside and outside the classroom while encouraging responsibility, leadership and service.
