The Whitesboro Community Choir will be presenting its annual spring concert on Thursday, May 14 at 7 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Whitesboro. The theme for the concert is “Director’s Choice,” a program that reflects not only musical variety, but a personal connection between the directors and the selections themselves.
“Every piece in this program represents a decision,” said director Susie Meals. “Not just about what we sing, but about what we want to say through music.” From reflective choral works to moments of joy and energy, Director’s Choice spans a wide range of musical styles and moods.
The result is an evening that is as much about connection as it is about performance—between singers, director and audience—woven together through sound.
“Music has a way of revealing what words alone cannot,” Meals said. “This program is our way of sharing those moments with our community.”
The concert is free to attend. Following the performance, guests are invited to attend a complimentary reception hosted by the GFWC History Club of Whitesboro, GFWC Lake Area Woman’s Club and House of Brews Coffee House.
The choir is under the direction of Meals, Jackie Mitchell and Brenda Warren with Assistant Director Connie DeWeese and Accompanist Marilyn Meals. Sponsors for the event are The AquaStore/Van Alstyne, GFWC History Club of Whitesboro, GFWC Lake Area Woman’s Club, Holiday Chevrolet & Holiday Ford/Whitesboro, House of Brews Coffee House, RJ Marketing Solutions LLC, The Meals Team|EXP Realty, Jenkins and Son LLC.
