Lady Cats edged by Paradise
The Whitesboro Lady Bearcat softball team went the distance with Paradise Friday but still came up short with a 5-4 final on the road.
Cameron Ortiz went 2-for-4 with a double, home run and two RBIs.
It was a walk-off for Paradise and it took nine innings for them to get the job done.
Jenna Cole went 3-for-4 and scored.
Reagan Downs went 2-for-5 and drove in a run.
Avery Howerton singled, walked and scored once.
The loss took Whitesboro to 21-8 on the year and 8-3 in district play.
They had a bye on Tuesday.
Lady Rams beat Blue Ridge
The S&S Lady Ram softball team beat Blue Ridge Friday at home. The result was a 15-0 Rams in four innings.
Lana Walters went 2-for-2 with a double, walked, drove in two and scored twice.
Hayden Mowrey went 2-for-3 with a double, four RBIs and scored three runs.
Brooklyn Sterling singled, walked twice and drove in three runs.
Brynlee Mullican threw a one-hitter with 10 strikeouts and no walks.
She also walked three times and drove in a run.
Saryn Dowell singled, drove in a run and scored twice.
Hayden Kight singled, walked twice and drove in a run.
Tabi Jordan and Marley Lunde each walked twice, drove in a run and scored once.
Hannah Foster walked and scored twice.
The win took S&S to 22-5 on the year and 9-1 in district play.
They also moved up to number 19 in this week’s state poll. District rival Bells is ranked 14th.

Pirates pummel Sam Rayburn
The Collinsville Pirate baseball team run-ruled Sam Rayburn with a 10-0 final Friday on the road.
Jaxon Spivey went 3-for-3, walked and scored once.
He also combined with Paxton Davidson on a three-hitter with five strikeouts and five walks.
Davidson went 2-for-4 and scored three runs.
Caysen Schafer went 2-for-2 with a double, four RBIs and scored twice.
Brandon Cantu went 3-for-3 and scored three times.
Rider Patterson went 2-for-2, walked and drove in a run.
Peyton Davidson walked and drove in two runs.
The win took Collinsville to 12-2 on the year and 10-2 on district play.
This week’s coaches poll has the Pirates ranked third.
District rival Tom Bean is ranked first.

Cats, Lady Cats take third in district meet
Both Whitesboro varsity track teams had third-place finishes last week at the District 10-3A meet which was hosted in Whitesboro.
The top four finishers in each event advanced to the area meet.
The boys team earned 102 points and took third.
The 1,600 relay of Colt Fagan, Scout Regealen, Camron Howard and Wyatt Winchester took gold with 3:27.12.
Ayden LaSalle won the shot put with a throw of 48 feet.
Elijah Hines was sixth at 40 feet, eight inches.
Winchester won the 300 hurdles in 39.71 seconds.
Zander Brannan won the pole vault with 14 feet and was the runner-up in the 800 with a time of 2:05.16.
Howard was second in the high jump at six feet on a tie-breaker.
He also took third in the long jump at 19 feet, five inches.
Rhett Fagan finished fourth in the triple jump at 39 feet, seven inches.
Aidan Brinlee was fourth in the 200 with a time of 23.27 seconds.
Rhett Fagan was fourth in the 400 in 52.83 seconds.
The 800 relay of Brinlee, Colt Fagan, Howard and Regealen took fourth in 1:31.70.
Bentley Meals was fifth in the 800 with a time of 2:09.75.
The 400 relay of Rhet Rudzinski, Colt Fagan, Regealen and Brinlee was fifth in 44.81 seconds.
LaSalle took sixth in the discus at 119 feet, nine inches.
Brannan was sixth in the 1,600 in 4:52.34.
Keelan Bates was sixth in the 110 hurdles in 17.30 seconds.
The ladys’ team also took third with 89.5 points.
They were led by the 1,600 relay of Shelby Riddle, Aubrey Beam, Paisley Blevins and Brylee Weddle who took gold in 4:08.10.
Beam won the high jump at four feet, 10 inches on a tie-breaker.
Alexis Barrios was third at four feet, eight inches.
Sielar Hair was fifth on a tie-breaker at four feet, six inches.
Weddle won the 400 with a time of 58.01 seconds.
Sam Culligan was third in 1:02.58.
Loretta Vawter was sixth in 1:05.80.
Weddle was the runner-up in the 200 with a time of 26.23 seconds.
Culligan was third in 28.29 seconds.
The 800 relay of Shelby Riddle, Karina Riddle, Beam and Reagan Downs took third in 1:52.83.
Weddle was fourth in the long jump at 15 feet, one and a half inches.
Vawter tied for fifth in the pole vault at seven feet, six inches.
Blevins was sixth in the 800 with a time of 2:35.37.
The 400 relay of Shelby Riddle, Karina Riddle, Downs and Ashlynn Warren was sixth in 55.34 seconds.
Tioga, Collinsville make statement at district track meet
The Tioga boys track squad won the team title last week at the district meet in Era.
The Lady Bulldogs finished third as did the Collinsville boys.
The top four finishers in each event advanced to the area meet.
Tioga took first with 151 points. Collinsville had 75 points.
The Bulldogs swept all three relays and added an individual victory.
The 400 relay of Jaxson Hurst, Greeley McAden, Quesyn Arrington and Justin Arrington won with a time of 43.01 seconds.
The 800 relay of Justin Arrington, Noah Vazquez, Quesyn Arrington and McAden won with a time of 1:29.87.
The 1,600 relay of Quesyn Arrington, Kyson Kirkland, McAden and Justin Arrington won in 3:20.39.
Jayson Stogner won the pole vault at a school record 13 feet.
Garrison Black was the runner-up in the 3,200 with a time of 10:27.48 and Alexis Santoyo-Pina was sixth in 11:05.14.
Black also was second in the 1,600 with a time of 4:41.64.
Santoyo-Pina was fourth in 4:48.12.
Dominque Oranday was fifth in 4:49.73.
Kirkland took runner-up in the 400 in 51.03 seconds.
August Strittmatter was third in 52.61 seconds.
Noah Vazquez was the runner-up in the 200 in 22.99 seconds.
Hurst was third in 23.54 seconds.
Hurst also took third in the 100 with a time of 11.44 seconds.
Strittmatter was fourth in 11.48 seconds.
Bryson Bradley was third in the shot put at 46 feet, 7.75 inches and fifth in the discus with 131 feet.
Raul Chavez won third in the 300 hurdles with a time of 42.58 seconds.
Kallin Henderson was fifth in 43.76 seconds.
Vazquez took fifth in the long jump at 19 feet, 2.5 inches.
Oranday was fifth in the 800 with a time of 2:05.96.
The Lady Bulldogs also took third— with 85 points.
The Collinsville Ladies were eighth with 21 points.
Tioga swept all three relays to go with an individual victory.
The 400 relay of Timber Johnson, Ella Norwood, Bella Dennis and Kyndall Whitley won in 49.39 seconds.
The 800 relay of Johnson, Dennis, Norwood and Whitley won with a time of 1:44.06
The 1,600 relay of Jillian Rodriguez, Maddy Schon, Norwood and Dennis won in 4:06.11.
Whitley won the 200 with a time of 26.15 seconds and Johnson was third in 27.59 seconds.
Rodriguez was the runner-up in the 100 with a time of 12.99 seconds.
Schon was sixth in 13.44 seconds.
Collinsville was led by Ashleigh Ortowski’s bronze medal finish in the 400 in 1:03.88.
Jaydee Matlock was fourth on a tie-breaker in the high jump at four feet, 10 inches.
Ava Barnes was sixth at four feet, six inches.
Zoey Kays was fourth in the 800 with a time of 2:39.92.
The 400 relay of Kays, Reese Patterson, Matlock and Ortowski took fifth in 53.19 seconds.
The 1,600 relay of Matlock, Kays, Ortowski and Patterson was sixth in 4:30.50.
The Collinsville boys were bolstered by three gold medals.
Fernando Perez won the 3,200 with a time of 10:25.84.
Jose Ramirez was fourth at 10:34.96.
Perez also took the 1,600 in 4:39.85 and Ramirez was sixth in 4:49.77.
Russell Carney won the discus with a throw of 169 feet, two inches.
Cooper McMillan was third at 135 feet, one inch.
McMillan was also runner-up in the shot put at 48 feet, 9.5 inches.
Isaiah Smith was runner-up in the 800 with a time of 1:57.70.
Tanner Frick was sixth in 2:12.30.
Caysen Schafer was third in the triple jump at 39 feet, two inches.
Paxton Davidson was sixth at 37 feet, five and a half inches.
Smith was fourth in the 400 with a time of 53.17 seconds.
The 1,600 relay of Chad Davidson, Smith, Schafer and Briar Whisenant was fifth in 3:36.62.
The 400 relay of Rider Patterson, Schafer, Whisenant and Paxton Davidson was sixth in 46.33 seconds.
Rams run at district meet
The S&S Lady Ram track team had two second-place finishes late last week at the district meet in Pottsboro.
Tabi Jordan was the runner-up in the shot put at 33 feet, four inches.
Ryleigh Carr was third at 31 feet, 11 inches.
Dandree Meeks was the runner-up in the 800 in 2:32.23 and third in the 1,600 in 5:55.09.
Hannah Foster was third in the long jump at 16 feet .5 inches.
Jordan took fifth in the discus with a throw of 96 feet, three inches.
The 400 relay of Ayvah Gentry, Bella Bennett, Novalee Adams and Hayden Mowrey was fifth in 53.08 seconds.
Mowrey was fifth in the 100 with a time of 13.66 seconds.
The 800 relay of Mowrey, Bennett, Adams and Meeks was fifth in 1:51.81.
The 1,600 relay of Gentry, Lillian Vickery, Briston Graham and Foster was sixth in 4:36.96.
The S&S boys took seventh with 26 points.
They were led by Donaven Gingras’ second place finish in the 800 with a time of 2:05.42.
Gingras also took fourth in the 1,600 in 4:55.32.
Jayden Vega was fourth in the long jump at 19 feet, four and a half inches.
Kevin Flores placed fourth in the 3,200 with a time of 11:04.46.
Carter Ross was sixth in the high jump on a tie-breaker at five feet, six inches.
Matthew Flores was sixth in the pole vault at 10 feet, six inches.
Hayden Harkins was sixth in the shot put at 37 feet, one and a half inches.
The 400 relay of Elisha Gentry, Joe Orr, Caden Daniel and Blue Hatfield was sixth in 44.82 seconds.
Kaiden Shields placed sixth in the 300 hurdles with a time of 43.62 seconds.
Lady Cats edge Ponder
The Whitesboro Lady Bearcat softball team picked up a huge win when they clipped Ponder 4-3 last week at home in district play.
It came down to the wire.
Ponder was two outs away from sealing the deal, but Breighlin Rupert had other plans.
She saved the Lady Cats with a two-run double that clinched the win.
Avery Howerton allowed two earned runs on five hits with 14 strikeouts and a walk.
She also singled, walked twice and scored once.
Cameron Ortiz went 2-for-4 with a double, drove in a run and scored.
Jenna Cole went 2-for-2 and scored once.
Kaydence Thomas singled and walked.
The win took Whitesboro to 21-7 on the year and 8-2 in distric play.
They traveled to Paradise on Friday.
Bearcats drop to Callisburg
The Whitesboro Bearcat baseball team fell to 0-7 in district play on April 7 after a 5-2 home loss to Callisburg.
Justin Knight went 2-for-3 and scored once.
Korbin Ross went 2-for-4.
Parks Ramsey singled, walked and scored once.
Ayce Nelson doubled.
Brody Colin drove in a run.
The loss took Whitesboro to 5-15 on the year.
They ended the series with a 9-1 loss to Callisburg on Friday.

The Collinsville Pirate baseball team run-ruled Dodd City at home last week with a 12-3 final in district play.
Caysen Schafer went 3-for-4 with two triples, two RBIs and scored twice.
Paxton Davidson doubled, drove in a run, scored twice.
He also combined with Tucker Howard and Travis Emshoff on a three-hitter.
Jaxon Spivey singled, walked, drove in a run and scored twice.
Hayden Watson walked and scored twice.
Nate Hicks walked, drove in a run and scored once.
Rider Patterson drove in a run and scored.
The Pirates opened the series with a 15-5 win in five innings.

Kyndall Whitley went 3-for-3 with a double, drove in a run.
Bella Dennis went 2-for-2, walked and scored three times.
Emerson Moore doubled and drove in a pair of runs.
Sadie Bates singled, drove in a run and scored.
Abbey Urich singled, walked and scored once.
The loss took Tioga to 8-15 on the year and 3-10 in district play.
They traveled to Dodd City on Friday.

Cats run at Austin
Several Whitesboro runners recently traveled to Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin as part of the 98th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays.
The 1,600 relay of Camron Howard, Zander Brannan, Scout Regealen and Wyatt Winchester was 26th in Division I with a time of 3:30.43.
On the girls’ side, Whitesboro’s 1,600 relay of Shelby Riddle, Paisley Blevins, Aubrey Beam and Brylee Weddle was 20th in Division I with a time of 4:05.25.
Rams run at Bonham
The S&S boys track team finished fifth last week at the Bonham Relays with 77 points.
They were led by two victories.
Donaven Gingras took gold in the 800 with a time of 2:07.47.
He was also runner-up in the 1,600 in 5:07.01.
Matthew Flores won the pole vault with a leap of nine feet.
Kevin Flores took third in the 3,200 in 11:25.27.
He also took fourth in the 1,600 in 5:24.65.
The 400 relay of Elisha Gentry, Blue Hatfield, Caden Daniel and Jayden Vega took fifth with a time of 45.66 seconds.
The 800 relay of Gentry, Hatfield, Joe Orr and Daniel was fifth in 1:37.19.
Matthew Flores was fifth in the 1,600 with a time of 5:24.73.
The 1,600 relay of Kenny Melton, Gentry, Orr and Vega was fifth in 3:42.35.
Carter Ross tied for fifth in the high jump at five feet, eight inches.
Vega was sixth in the 100 with a time of 11.86 seconds.
Kaiden Shields was sixth in the 300 hurdles in 45.28 seconds.
The Lady Rams took sixth with 60 points.
They were led by Dandree Meeks’ gold medal in the 800 with a time of 2:31.98 and she was the runner-up in the 1,600 in 6:01.37.
Kenzi Perry was the runner-up in the pole vault at six feet, six inches.
The 800 relay of Hayden Mowery, Bella Bennett, Novalee Adams and Meeks was third in 1:52.30.
Ayvah Gentry tied for third in the high jump at four feet, four inches.
The 400 relay of Gentry, Bennett, Adams and Mowery was fifth in 53.54 seconds.
The 1,600 relay of Lillian Vickery, Hannah Foster, Addyson Russell and Gentry was sixth in 4:48.49.
Bulldogs, Pirates run at Decatur
The Tioga boys track team were the runner-up last week and the Lady Bulldogs had a top-four finish in the Decatur relays.
The boys took second with 68 points.
Collinsville was 12th with 11 points.
The Bulldogs were led by victories in all three relays.
The 400 relay of Jaxson Hurst, Greeley McAden, Quesyn Arrington and Justin Arrington won with a time of 42.35 seconds.
The 800 relay of Justin Arrington, Noah Vazquez, Quesyn Arrington and McAden won with a time of 1:28.
The 1,600 relay of Quesyn Arrington, Kyson Kirkland, McAden and Justin Arrington won in 3:25.69.
Kallin Henderson was fourth in the 300 hurdles in 44.25 seconds.
