Good help is hard to find

Dear Editor,

I have to extend my ultimate gratitude to the staff of Axtell Pharmacy in Whitesboro. My husband was released from the hospital on Tuesday, March 23, and I came to Axtell drive-through to pick up his meds and hurry back home. I noticed a pile of pallets behind your storage and decided to inquire inside, thinking he would be surprised to have his newly-envisioned project supplies when he gets back on his feet.

The head pharmacist, a tall lady who was very busy (to be addressed with such a trivial question), and could have quickly said no or pass me off, said, “Let me get someone from the back to answer that question,” and summoned two men from the back.

They answered, “Sure, drive around to the back and we’ll load them for you.” I was shocked!! Didn’t expect THAT quick, positive response! When I got to the back with my small SUV, they were surprised to hear I needed a minimum of nine! They glanced at each other and quickly responded, “Ma’am, they won’t fit. Can we deliver?” I quickly laughed and said I’ll make nine trips if they could wait. Then they insisted they would deliver if Friday was convenient.

I explained they were going to make a big,  old, sick man very happy. I insisted to pay delivery and gas for Friday and they insisted, “No!” I had every intention of rewarding them with at least a gift certificate each, but as we were coming home from a doctor’s follow-up appointment in Sherman, they called and were leaving the pallets in the back yard as agreed and were gone when we got home!

Pallets delivered. And they had said they would go through them and pick out the best. They did! My husband was feeling a hundred times better after he saw those pallets!

Their names are Luke and Brady. I don’t know where they live, last names or ages. They deserve a reward, not for their work but for their attitude and follow-through. So proud I chose Whitesboro, Texas to live.

And thank you, Axtell, for hiring quality staff!

Sincerely,
Sheila and John Hunt
Whitesboro, Texas
