The S&S High School archery team made school history last Friday while competing in the state championship tournament.
Nine brave students attempted the 3D animal target competition at the state level. Having never attempted this type of competition before that moment, the team qualified for the national championship in Kentucky.
This is the first time S&S High School has qualified a 3D archery team for nationals.
The qualifying team consisted of Parker Ringger, Meghan Schroeder, Kris Kelly, Ryli Maestas, Larry King, Karson McLinksy, Mckenzie Ridenour, Will Rotello and Baylie Emmert.
Additionally, the bullseye team did very well with 9 of the 18 archers achieving new personal best scores.
The team competed against the entire state, from large homeschool programs all the way to 6A behemoths who usually qualify two skilled teams. S&S was thrilled to place 40th out of 82 teams and coming close to qualifying for advancement to the national championship.
Congratulations to all of these students for a highly successful competition.
