The Grayson County Democratic Party is excited to announce the 2026 Democratic County Convention at the Sherman Courthouse (east courtroom, second floor) on Saturday, March 21. The south and west doors will open at 8:30 a.m. Doors will lock at 10 a.m. The Convention will end by 1 p.m.
Every two years, following the primary election, Grayson County Democrats convene to conduct important party business and elect delegates to the Texas Democratic Convention in Corpus Christi this coming June. This is where they take the energy from their record-breaking Primary Election and turn it into the organized force they feel will carry them to victory in November.
At the county convention, Democrats come together to:
• Adopt resolutions—policy positions the party supports
• Elect delegates to the state convention
• Conduct party business, including rules, leadership, and organizing priorities
To be eligible as a delegate at the County Convention, you must meet one of these criteria:
• You voted in the Democratic Primary in the same year as the convention.
• You did not vote in the Republican Primary and are willing to sign an oath of affiliation to the Democratic Party. This includes voters who were not old enough to vote during the primary but will be 18 by the November general election.
